[Discussion] What Are Your Main Gripes With Anime & Manga

What are some of your main gripes when it comes to anime and manga? Does anything make you cringe or gets you angry, especially when it comes to the fandom. For me, it has to be:

1.) Friendship Wins All!

This happens a lot in Shonen series such as Fairy Tail, One Piece, Naruto, and several others. Basically, the main villain would have total advantage over a fight with the MC. The MC would be severely outmatched then suddenly:

“I HAVE MY FRIENDS! NAKAMA FOREVER!”

Then suddenly, the MC(s) would gain a huge power up and win the fight with a one shot.

It’s the reason why I dropped Fairy Tail recently, because it happens in every arc. It’s happening in the Spriggan Arc right now with the Spriggan getting one shotted with ease by FT members, because Hiro is too scared to let his character develop by losing and dying. And I know Gajeel comes back, because Hiro’s been pulling asspull after asspull by bringing back deceased characters in this arc to save the MCs. No one in the guild dies.

2. Loli/Ecchi

This sickens me the most. The last thing I want to see is little anime children being naked. And it’s ridiculous! I remember I saw an anime girl, who was nine years old, and she had big boobs and a huge booty.

It disappoints me when I see some mangakas heavily relying on fanservice just to keep their fanbase active, because they don’t know how to execute a good story.

And I know that people hate me for being against it, but I don’t care. I just don’t know why the fandom supports this. It seems as if most anime and manga fans are nothing more than horny teens or pedophiles.

Etc are all Fiction and entertainment to me, I question the mental state of one who takes fictional characters to heart, it makes no sense at all, it's just entertainment, You will never see me make a thread complaining that Sasuke is a bad dad or anything that compares fiction with reality. I either like something or I don't, that's it, no gripes from me.

Perhaps it's just me..But I'm sure over 80% of the anime I've come across have Love triangles in them. Sick and tired of it tbh.

I only dislike yaoi but other than that I enjoy all type of animes/mangas because I watch/read them to have a good time.

There's nothing wrong with ecchi or loli as long as the story is great and that the characters are likable.

Good examples of ecchi:

Highschool of the Dead; I like the story. Great characters, ecchi was just a bonus. The zombies is what made me like the anime even more because there aren't many zombie/post apocalypse animes out there.

High School DxD; I like the whole aspect of angels vs fallen angels vs demons vs dragons vs vampires, etc. The characters are likable, even villains besides one that appears in the light novels. It's almost ending. It's by far my favourite light novel.

Bad examples of ecchi:

Maken-Ki! Two; Oh no... this one was terrible.

There's nothing wrong with lolis because there are shows that are just plain cute with slice of life and comedy.

I. cliche female characters, the chicks usually have the same personality types. when you watch a bunch of different ones and keep seeing it over and over, its more apparent that theres a type of formula for the character modeling

II. annoying main characters, i find the majority of anime/manga have annoying mc's. of course there are epic ones but they easily stand out from the sea of basic ones. maybe its hard for me to relate, idk. but their personalities and decision making are annoying to witness a lot of the time for me, theyre also usually children who think they know it all

III. predictable stories. ive seen a lot of anime because ive seen really good ones, made me want to find other greats. but most anime i can predict in a few episodes if its 13eps and maybe ten if its 25eps season. the greats are the ones you cant, but so many morally cliche stories or just overall just stupid scenarios with obvious outcomes

IV. guys being afraid of women. i mean no wonder japan is full of a generation that doesn't want to breed. its less cliche now but it use to be more extreme, guys looking away or being afraid of seeing a woman naked. ive never met any male like that, i understand it shows respect but ive seen it so badly done in anime, smh....chicks literally throwing themselves at these guys, its just unrealistic but it doesnt have to be. just annoying for me to watch

V. females physically abusing males. when i first got into anime it was funny and cute, as i watched more and more i realized it happens in most and is annoying. i feel like its trying to say its okay for a female to hit a male for whatever reason, which is btchy stigmatic garbage. i mean theyll literally beat the shit out of them for making a joke, or just abuse them for seeing them naked, which a lot of the time is by mistake. its not right, nobody has the right to put their hands on another person like that and its rarely ever funny and just makes most female characters look like btches
