[Theory] Acnologia Mystery

We know so far that he wants to kill all the dragon slayers, there must be a reason why he hates dragons so much. There have been theories suggesting that he and Anna were together and maybe a dragon killed Anna or something and now he wants revenge.

However the problem with that theory is, Acnologia did not care about blowing Tenrou Island even though Lucy who looks like Anna was there and did not take notice of her whatsoever. However, if Hiro did not decide who Acnologia was going to be at the time, then there's still a possibility since that was the first time Acnologia was showed in the series.

Other theory's include, Acnologia being Natsu's and Zeref's Dad or Acnologia being Natsu from a different timeline, another mad theory is he's actually Lucy's real dad which would f##kin mad but interesting or just plain and simply he's a powerful dragon slayer who just wants a real challenge.

Which theory do you think is true, if not then what's your theory?

To be honest I never saw a reason to think about it as he already said it himself: he wants to be the Dragon King and to him that means being the last dragon.

He was once human and became a dragon. The fact that he doesn't care about either species and that Igneel and the others hid inside the dragon slayers to halt their dragonification, seems to indicate that turning into a dragon is as much a physical as a mental change. As a result for Acnologia the world is merely a plaything and I never needed another reason other than that to explain his behavior.

Also in regards to the whole Anna thing: she was the one who sent the dragon slayers 400 years into the future for the sole purpose of beating Acnologia, so that theory is pretty much invalidated. Same thing for the whole "Acnologia is Zeref & Natsu's dad". Zeref met Acnologia once in human form, remember? They didn't show any kind of familiarity with each other, Zeref even noted that this was the first time he saw Acnologia's human form. So unless neither of them actually are aware of this father-son relationship, you can discard it likewise.

Most of the other theories you mentioned are plainly absurd.

Maybe he is just a dragon slayer who the power turned him into the dragon and corrupted him... I just don't know why he would want to kill all dragons...

we already have a 3rd dragneel in the story so it doesn't make sense to introduce another brother character
