Could Kushina have actually survived her extraction?

I've seen this topic in other forums but I wasn't sure and wanted a definitive answer. Here Kushina and Minato both acknowledge that she will die even if Kurama was put back in her:

This goes along with the already established extract=sure death. But then we see Naruto live when he "died" immediately upon extraction. Is this just Minato and Kushina's lack of of info, or a plot-hole? In other words could she have lived?

The extraction rule is a myth and proved to be wrong just like Zetsu's opinion on Tsukuyomi. If a person's genes are strong enough the rules of their power will not apply to them.

Example : Sasuke broke MS genjutsu with 3T Sharingan because Indra's genes were strongest in him, Naruto had the chakra of 9 bijuu without being a Juubi Jinchuuriki because his body had Gedo traits.

Kushina was going to survive the extraction even though she gave birth in the process, the only reason she died is because Kurama stabbed her. Other than that she had the life force to remain alive due to her strong Uzumaki genes.

Uzumaki inherited Gedo Mazo traits and as a result some of them were bound to have similar life force as someone synced with the statue.

yeah, that completely explains Sakura having to manually pump Naruto's heart and Hinata saying Naruto was dying after Yang Kurama got extracted from him :sdo:

Kurama used to take chakra from the jinchuriki too. - he stopped doing that during war - eight tail noticed it when Naruto was able to fight longer and called him out on it since Kurama had been acting as if he didn't care what happens to Naruto. It was a friendly Kurama who was restored back in Naruto who wanted to assist him.

Kushina and Kurama were not on good terms- in fact Kurama was trying to kill her. If he was sealed back it would mean Kushina would have to use her remaining strength to control him and Kurama wouldn't have been cooperating. So it's highly doubtful she would have survived in already weakened state. Don't forget she had just delivered a baby, plus was already hurt bad.

If she died along with him the village will get a temporary relief since it takes sometime before they can resurrect but Konoha would have lost it's bijju ( unless they find and capture it again, which was highly uncertain) and Minato assessed that whoever the masked man would return to attack and that Konoha won't be able to keep up unless they had Kurama's power with them to fight him back.

In such a weakened state, I highly doubt Kushina would have sufficient enough energy to be able to resist Kurama's chakra. It was her powerful chakras and lifeforce that enabled her to be a sufficient host for Kurama, but with a lack of that chakra, there's really no way she could've survived with Kurama being sealed back in her. It's essentially like Danzo with Hashirama's DNA where depleting his chakra made it so that he had no chakra left and couldn't resist Hashirama's chakra from taking over. Likewise, when Sasuke depleted his chakra, he didn't have any available chakra left to resist Orochimaru's chakra which thus, allowed Orochimaru to take over. Because Kushina lacks chakra, she cannot use her sealing jutsu to take control over Kurama and she simply cannot resist Kurama's Chakra, so Kurama would likely break through the seal.

Minato and Kushina aren't stupid. They understood this concept and determined that it was best to seal away Kurama using Shiki Fujin and also seal the other half inside Naruto.
