That's your only shot at beating Gai, seems kind of lame. Plus even if he does use FTG, Gai could come chasing after him, with that speed he can run through a country within minutes. There is no escaping Gai, you can only outlast him by having Rikuudo chakra. The durability that it grants is greater than Gai's damage. There is no way for Minato to keep running over and over. Gai solos.
