Basically. The only people who say it's not canon are those who just dislike the idea of the continuation, or they are just salty about the details of such said story.

In a crumbled village, at the Hokage Monument...They're fighting in Konohagakure Village, which is supposed to be peaceful: It's Boruto and a character referred to as 'Kawaki'. The both of them seem to have a common 'crest'//'coat of arms' on their bodies, so what happened...?

Beginning of the Next Box Info (About the movie-recap):

冒頭から時は遡り、まだ幼き日のボ�� �トの時代へ。

For the beginning, we go back in time; to the era and days when Boruto was still very young.

I'd really like to see a spin-off about Sakumo Hatake, or the Legendary Sannin. I'd rather have those than Boruto, but I'll be reading it nonetheless.
