[Nintendo DS] Future of Pokemon

I think the games and franchise is fine how it is. It's a cash cow to them so at the end of the day it'll still feel like pokemon. I like the new games and the old games.

I think they're on a crash course. It's going into Digimon territory and that will be it's down fall. I love Pokemon that's why I'm being honest about it.

I don't even know anymore... It was looking promising, but now it's just looking as generic as always if not even more, in my opinion. No rival, the main character looks almost identical to last gen's, I doubt they'll let us remove the stupid hat for once, Solgaleo Psychic and Steel, seriously gamefreak? The main legenday on the newest gen is the same type as Metagross Bronzong and Jirachi? A new legendary Pokémon that is supposed to represent the sun gets the lamest typing ever. The Rotom pokedex... I don't even... I never even liked Rotom to begin with but i don't care, i'll just have to wait and see, it can't be worse than megas.

Idk how i feel about the new gen honestly. I'm still hype about buying the game, hopefully, but yeah... Wtf Gamefreak.

Definitely moving far. Not necessarily a bad thing tho. The only issue I have with the new games is the lazy design that doesn't really feel like Pokemon at all. It goes way back from fourth generation but nowadays it's really bad. (Heck, look at Poplio and compare it to Squirtle).

Another problem I have is with "inventing" new things that are completely unnecessary and totally not Pokemon-like. Especially, the Mega Evolution which is a total Digimon rip-off. Most of the bashing is certainly fueled by nostalgia to which I say get over it people, but there are definitely problems with the newer generations that need to be fixed.

It gets better...Its Steel/Psychic and has the ability 'Fullmetal Body' which...wait for it ...blocks stat drops... just like Base-Metagross's Clear Body :sdo:

How do you feel about Gamefreak departing from the simplicity of past generations?

As seen in the trailer we will receive what appears to be a talking Rotom as our Pokedex. In the past games (excluding anime) talking to pokemon was always something brought up by researchers but never an aspect of the game.

Is Gamefreak moving too far from the formula that made Pokemon so successful by adding too many human traits to ultimmately what are supposed to be our slaves?

Nobody can tell you until they play it but I liked having Pikachu follow me and able to interact to a degree in Yellow so I say let's try it.
