I see what you mean but in the future there still humans left so i can see Pilaf and the gang somehow surviving for comedic purpose or maybe she got sent to the future

If she had survived for some reason she would be a lot older than trunks, and she certainly wouldn't have a relationship with future trunks.

alternatively, its just toriyama forgetting major plot points again.



Actually, if the Pilaf gang wished for youth during the 3 year timeskip between Trunks killing Frieza and the Androids showing up, and the wish turned them into babies, it's possible that Mai would still be the same age as Trunks in the future.
