Even I never felt Hago is a God/like a God in nature. At most a very powerful being in NV before Kaguya introduction. Even I(a Kaguya fan) never declared/claimed Kaguya as a God unlike some Sasuke/Naruto fans like to claimed their Fav is a God of NV

If you give me 50 K USD and ticket to Japan and also access pass to Kishi's office and SP, I will give them better story blue print for Otsutsuki Backstory.

I'm not talking about religion here but if you bring in Gods as a subject of discussion, sure it will involve religious believe.

I'm just giving you an example here. Pain was a human and not God, people called him God but not by nature/believe, just by name infront of power.

Iron Man have power suit, but people still wont called him a God. He had a power suit to battle God of Thunder, Thor but he still just a brilliant human and not a God

all i know is that it took all of 2 arcs to wreck Hagoromo's rep as a know-it-all deity once the real story about him started to get exposed. The guy looked like a complete buffoon by the time Naruto and Sasuke had their rematch at the end, so it was kind of funny in hindsight that such reverence was ever shown for the guy.
