Where do you think Gai and MS Kakashi would fall respectively?

I put Gai up to 7 gates at 2 and MS Kakashi somewhere between Itachi and Kisame

I would guess Kakashi between Orochimaru and Kakuzu. While I do believe in him defeating Kakuzu with his MS (and those lower than him), Orochimaru.. well, it would be a long stretch to say so. On the other hand, I see Kisame weaker than Oro due to the latter´s resilience, on which you may not agree.

The problem with Gai is that while he can defeat Kisame, I still don´t see him defeating Orochimaru, so around Oro. Those top three can outlast him, which is Gai´s weakness due to the time limitation (or teleport/put him somewhere else/genjutsu).

They would be quite the duo, though - while one specialises in techniques, the second one is pure taijutsu (tank and dps, one might say). A tagteam with a secret ace in the sleeve (seven gates/MS), would be fun to see them in Akatsuki.

I would put Kakashi(War Arc) ahead of Kakazu at six and Guy just before him. With Orochimaru's knowledge and ninjutsu abilities I can't see either of them ahead him but the rest are dead at their feet.
