Her confronting Sasuke was weird, she didn't want to do it. She takes a poisoned kunai to a fight to kill him, when he fist were the deadliest weapon. She probably was just going to run away with him and keep him out of trouble.
Sakura would even clean his house

Why lol Is she in jail?

SHe was just young and dumb back then , she yeilds no man. But she will cook dinner for her child and husband.

You know you ****ed up when you compare a 12 years old kid who is just trying to get attention to a grown ass 17 years girl trying to fool another grown ass 17 years old dude.

HEr reason was selfless and for the leaf.
His reason was for lustful reason, **** his age, wrong is wrong.

What she did wasn't immature at all, it was to protect her comrade.

I don't get it.

Naruto was a silly kid being an idiot. If you were a 12 year old who knew transformation jutsu, who wouldn't do something like this at some point?

Sakura's case was completely different. She was trying to convince Naruto to forget his burden so that her and her comrades could kill Sasuke without feeling bad about it. The whole idea Sakura had to save Naruto the burden was retarded. This also has nothing to do with her being a woman, Sasuke's idea to become Hokage, kill every other kage and establish a new world order was even more retarded.

Bottom line? Naruto might have been an idiot as a 12 year old but a 17 year old Naruto was far more mature and level minded than a grieving Sakura and a bi-polar Sasuke.

first scenario this naruto is immature and an idiot so

Second scenario naruto was more mature than sakura so was able to see through her lies despite not being a realist.

They were not 17 yet...

Besides the whole confession crap - that's on heads of Shikamru( his idiot moment) and Sai who tried to guilt trip her over something she did at the age of 12. Naruto hadn't just made promise to Sakura- he himself felt the pull because of Indra's chakra( we know now) and wished to bring Sasuke back+ he promised to Itachi too and that promise wasn't of a 12 year old kid either.

Sai and Shikamaru knew almost nothing nor were equipped to deal with Sasuke. And yet Shikamaru the supposed genius, doesn't think for a moment to find out more about Sasuke and his alleys before planing to kill him. They had seen Obito and still Shikamaru thought they had a chance. That's what I call being naive. How did he manage to become a Jounin?

Sakura only confessed to Naruto to soften the hit- Naruto would have definitely lost at least one of the team mates that day, if not both. And many other friends if they attacked Sasuke- He had Obito with him. Sakura basically had the best chance if she could go though- but then Hiruzen failed to kill Oro too, Happens- she is a medic- cold blooded murder of a friend and a crush is against too many instincts.

Her character over all wasn't developed properly but the bashing she gets is definitely way out of proportion to her weak moments.

Edit: In fact Team 7 showed extreme understanding of each other's feelings and motives in that little play and it helped Naruto in decidinghow he will have to deal with Sasuke. I think that was the only purpose of the whole incident.

Sakua in fact saved lives of the tiny group that though they were good enough to face Sasuke without thinking he might not be alone and they weren't that good as they thought.

A few things:

1. I never mentioned the other Konoha 11 so there is no point in bringing them up. You're right though, them believing they could kill Sasuke was just as retarded as the other scenarios I mentioned before.

2. To truly confess to someone, it has to be sincere. This is where Sakura's 'confession' becomes total bullcrap. Naruto was smart enough to know Sakura didn't actually like him, he knew that forever. So for her to believe she could pull one over on a guy she straight up cold-shouldered for the greater part of a decade also defines as retarded.

Bottom line? Sakura LIED to Naruto to try to lessen a burden that would have happened anyway (assuming they could kill Sasuke which you proved they could not). If he believed her, and they got together, later on she would have dumped him and said, "Oh... I was only with you because I killed your BF. But your okay now right? #Cya" She would have been better off not saying anything at all to Naruto.

Defending a character that is written bad is just a lost cause, regardless of gender.

I don't see why I shouldn't consider what lead to her confession if you overlook it and fail to mention it. :p

Yes Naruto had realized that years ago. Sakura never exactly hide that.

But the confession wasn't exactly to get Naruto to marry her and live happily ever after- she was on a suicidal mission and she was trying to negate the importance of promise before she went. If she succeeded even then seeing how Japanese stories of that kind go and how much 'nod' Kishi gives to Japanese cultural sensitivities, they wouldn't end up together. It only would render the promise pointless.

Besides that Sakura too didn't know that Naruto had made a promise to Itachi too. Sai basically told them she didn't understand the full impact of her ancient request and rest of Konoha 11 basically pushed her in corner. How would Naruto react if Sakura went after Sasuke and died(or killed Sasuke) without meeting Naruto? How about he feel about his promise to her and how Konoha 11 pushed her in to killing Sasuke without taking him in confidence?

Was there any good scenario here?

That's really just an assumption and totally based on personal whim. If we are going to do that there are other considerations. e.g.- In most Japanese/Asian stories when one of the guys ends up dead by the hand of a friend in a triangle the other two spend their lives as bachelors. And Kishi is known for keeping things cliche. So we will never know. :p

I am calling a spade, a spade. Not being written well is not good enough excuse to exaggerate the problems and make it a punching bag to get over personal issues.

This isn't worth arguing over.

1. The Konoha 11's idea to kill Sasuke should never have been made and Sakura should never have had to deal with it.

2. Sakura was blatantly deceitful to Naruto, knowing he'd probably figure her out. Then, even if he did believe her, she'd open the door to feelings she would never consider returning. It doesn't matter how these things go in Japanese lore or whether Naruto would pursue that fake love or not, the bottom line is that whichever way Naruto took her confession, the scenario ends badly.

Sakura took a bad situation and made it worse. If you can't agree with that than we won't find a middle ground.

But they did and thus the second part was the direct result of that.

That's who you see it/ This is how ex Viz Naruto Editor saw it:

* Sakura confesses "NARUTO, I LOVE YOU!" (!!!) But really, she's just lying to Naruto (and lying to herself too), because she's grateful to Naruto for all his help and she's sure that it's pointless to try to love Sasuke.

This comes out of nowhere, and I wish there had been a little more time for this love subplot throughout the manga, but it is handled well in the short space Kishimoto gives it. It psychologically stings: the mingled flattery and satisfaction and hurt and guilt that Naruto feels hearing the girl he likes say "I love you" together with the realization that she doesn't really mean it, and the gratitude and hopelessness and friendship that Sakura feels for him and confuses for love. Such a tangled, sad, beautiful moment.
- Jason Thompson

And I have my own take. Sakura managed to fight off Konoha 11- save their life and at the same time put them in their place- it didn't belong between Indra and Asura spirits. Naruto and Sasuke were able to come to face to face and evaluate each other and Naruto was finally able to make up his mind about Sasuke. So I don't see how it made things worse. It would be worse if Konoha 1 attacked Sasuke and got itself wiped out, while Sakura really sit in a corner being useless and later face Naruto. Sai for all his efforts proved he was still out of the loop and never really understand team 7. I feel sorry for him but he was kind of 5fth wheel. A spare when one of the regular wheels was flattened but ...

I don't see why you are arguing if you don't find it arguing over to begin with.

Sakura knew Naruto would hate her for killing Sasuke so tbh she never planned on being together with him anyway
