Gajeel and Bradman’s battle continues. Bradman tells Gajeel that he will die if he fights back, to which Gajeel replies that it’s just what he wants, because he’s already tired of finding a place to die. Levy has this worried look on her face.
Next scene, Irene commands Haine and Juliet to join the front lines. She says that the third guests will be coming. The first guests were Pegasus and Sabertooth, Fairies were second, and the third is a bit bothersome to deal with - Oracion Seis. But the most troublesome one would be the fourth guest, someone who is not an ally nor an enemy, and Irene says she must be the one to deal with the fourth guest.


Next scene, Natsu, Lucy, Brandish, and one more fairy tail member is riding giant Happy. Brandish made Natsu’s head big as he requested, making him super happy. Fan service time! Brandish then shrinks Lucy’s breasts, then makes them ridiculously huge. She wonders why teasing Lucy is so much fun. All of a sudden, they notice a magic aura - August’s. Natsu says he’s fired up, and Lucy reminds him that we’re there to negotiate.


The scene returns back to Irene. Irene says she needs to make preparations before the fourth guest arrives. The King’s war game must be put to an end now, and that if they fought normally they would have won. The game board broke the moment a player not bound by rules joined - pertaining to the Black Dragon Acnologia. Acnologia’s presence in the land where the White celestial maiden won is like the grudge of the Black Celestial Maiden. However, Irene says she, the Scarlet Celestial Maiden will have the last laugh.


Back to Gajeel and Bradman, Bradman was somewhat surprised that Gajeel can still fight properly, even though inhaling the magical particles his body emits kill wizards. Gajeel says that his lungs are made of steel. Bradman replies that that’s wonderful, because it’s been a while since he can fight to his heart’s content. Gajeel uses Iron Dragon’s Lance! It wasn’t very effective… It turns out Bradman’s entire body is made of magical particles which is why he is called the Grim Reaper, the ferryman/guide of the underworld.

Gajeel shouts to everyone to run away. Gajeel was overwhelmed by the skulls. Levy uses Solid script ‘Shine’ to momentarily blind Bradman, surprising him. Levy told Gajeel she won’t runaway (she made mask using her magic), and that he shouldn’t say he’s tired of finding a place to die. She doesn’t want him to die but to live. Bradman ruins the gajevy moment by saying that standing in front of him means that they have a death wish, and he swears to his name that he will grant their wish.


Last scene, West Fiore. Zeref notices a change in the magic of the land. He says, “Irene… What are you planning to do?”

Actually starting to wonder about the Celestial Maidens now. I'd just assumed that they were either fictional, or Irene had somehow altered the past using their fight as an example by making the black one win. Now it seems Irene is one of them as well. I'm guessing there's a fourth, because there's always one more than you had expected. I'm guessing they have something to do with the seasons if that's the case, since the White one made it snow and Irene seemingly turned it into Spring.

If i recall correctly even Gildarts was scared of facing Acnologia.....he said it all happened in a flash and in that moment the dragon took almost entire left half of his body..God Serena was supposed to be strongest in Ishgar and Acno one shotted him in his human form...so imagine his dragon form strength..it wouldn't be surprising if he can one shot almost everyone except for Zeref...and ofc END

It was within the bounds of my calculations. As I mentioned the issue was that it becomes highly subjective when you start to find a sensible reasoning for the counting and apparently the correct interpretation was from Irene's perspective who appeared on the northern battlefield: first Saber and Pegasus, then FT, after that the OS and now Acnologia. However apparently the OS are still coming, so before this chapter the 3rd guest wasn't even there.

So yeah this was quite the selectivee way of counting. Afterwards it might sound logical, but on beforehand there really was nothing that in particular supported this specific counting method.

He grew his own arm back before he left for the battlefield. Just before the war would start there was a panel at the end of a chapter where we saw Acnologia step outside his cave as a human and then transformed. During the transformation his arm started to grow back from some black particles:

Yeah. But I think she can put some fight against Acnologia. We all knew 8 years back Gildarts did fought against Acnologia. And this is after 8 years so I don't see why either Irene or August would fail to put up a fight at least like Gildarts did or even better. Since there is so much time gap and a lot have been happened. And it seems like she planned a lot to confront Acnologia. And also since Irene is a relative to Erza, I fail to see why Mashima will treat her badly. lol.

And do you think, we are moving close to the revelation of END?!. Third Seal. Mashima sure puts some interesting titles.

She is a knowledge-able person when it comes to all the mythological stuff. Recently I am just going to that website to see her threads including all the mythologies Mashima uses in FT. There are a lot tho.

Gildarts fought and survived Acnologia. That is a feat itself. "It all happened in a flash" doesn't necessarily mean the fight over in an instant. Acnologia ripping off Gildart's arm, leg, organs happened in an instant whatever the cause is. The negative meaning @underlined context gave was refuted by mashima in SI arc.

However if she's only talking about the northern battlefield, well there were no members of OS there and in the case she was talking about the whole battlefield why aren't Mermaid Heel and Lamia Scale mentioned? Not to mention FT was the first guild to come into hostile contact with the vanguard of the Alvarez. After that they pulled back to the guild and then went to support the different guilds.

Anyway one of the reasons as why they want Fairy Heart, is to kill Acnologia. Even August didn't even consider for a second to fight him, so that Irene seems to be planning to fight him, well no wonder Zeref becomes anxious as that was not part of the plan. Makes you wonder why that story about these maidens/angels is so special. The first time Irene mentioned it, it still could be considered to be some random trivia, but the fact that she keeps going on about it means it's important (at least to her).
