I believe that it is completely unfair for Jiraya to be the only character who didn't receive an appearance at the very end of the story.

Sometimes I think that he is the only shinobi to die as he lived: with the smile on his face.

He always used to smile and while he was going down into the depths he ended up with a smile. Probably only Itachi and Jiraya managed to do that (dying smiling).
