I used to drop Naruto raps on this forum under Namikazi The Rapper. If any of you remember me, I just dropped a new song called SERPENT on soundcloud. As dumb as it may sound, I'm aiming to make it Big. So hit me with any criticism. If you like it, My EP is on spotify for streaming.... Just search for Charlot VI (my rap name)

Thanks Ya'll:hs:

oh right i remember you! your new name is way better than the last ones.

i cant really give you advice for making it big though. im successful in the indie rock/alt rock scene but its not mainstream level. most people who are aiming to be "big" want to make a lot of money with some major label and be on the radio all day. i do know a big artist on Republic pretty well but i wouldnt advise it in this age from what ive heard from her

the song sounds okay, you definitely have improved since that last song i heard a while ago...Trojan or something, i remember the chorus had something to do with that. you have more style in your music but its not necessarily unique or fresh. it reminded me of Drake, which isnt bad or wrong to have a style influence, every successful music artist does. but you have to work on separating yourself if you want to be a big artist in the genre of your choosing. what can you add to the hip-hop genre that hasnt been done or at least well? thats the mindset you need when creating

take what you like about your influences and push it further than they did, thats essentially what it means to be an artist in a genre. hope my advice helps however it should

I took them down after I got with this new independent label i'm with, they wanted all of that old material scraped off the web.. Did I know you by another username?

No, i think you're confusing me with Meta-c (NarutAwesome)

The mods were pretty accepting of my raps because I didn't ever spam

I know a couple people from Capitol and they said the exact same thing. Bigger labels are having a harder time making money with in this new streaming Era we're in and most of these companies are going under from what I heard. I definitely don't want to be signed to a major label, but I want to get the same opportunities that Post or even Chance the Rapper get. I recently opened up for some pretty well known artists ( Dave East and Problem ) but we were horribly unprepared and didn't order enough demos to pass around for promotion.

You're right about style though man, It's definitely the biggest challenge that I think the majority of rappers face. I'm still developing though and work my hardest everyday. Even though we have different genres, your advice definitely helps.

If you come across any free time, would you mind reviewing my entire EP? I'd like to get the best feedback I can even if you're not too much into rap. Ill hit you with my spotify link if you agree, Thanks.

no problem, im glad to share what ive learned. especially since so many people never figure it out. writing a good song is a easy thing to do, a good song with a lot of unique style though is what will help you support yourself with music in the age. youre definitely on the right track though

yeah i can, im a huge music fan in general and enjoy hip-hop. just not how i wanted to express myself but i can this weekend. send me the link
