Hashirama never shown a counter for genjutsu because he was never trapped into a genjutsu.Its like i would say that PS never shown a counter for Base Rasengan so that means PS can't tank Rasengan.

Base Hashirama's wood golem can step on Itachi's susanoo and crush it into multiple pieces.Anyone who thinks that hashirama can lose against someone like itachi then he is a biased idiot who should gouge his eyes out.

Unless or until hashirama has a counter for genjutsu, He cant defeat itachi. Otherwise he could solo him anyday along with his totsuka blade.

Itachi would put up a good fight, but there is not a slighest chance for him to actually beat Hashirama.
Hashirama obviously knows how to avoid gen jutsu or atleast to resist it, so Tsukuyomi is a dealt with.
Amaterasu gets either repelled or absorbed with wood release. Once Itachi activates Susanoo, Hashirama summons the wood golem and smashes it into pieces. Shinsu Senju isn't even needed.

BTW, isn't hashirama regarded as god of shinobi. He is the most famous shinobi after sage. He knows every single technique and many of his jutsus copied by even madara and other great shinobis. How come he not counter genjutsu? He would definitely defeat itachi in 5 minutes.
Oh, now i remember, Hashirama's even know genjutsu and he used plenty of times in his fights.

Just imagine for a moment, Itachi uses susanoo and hashirama on the other hand uses his wood golem. He wrecks his susuanoo with his lethal blows and punches. After that only he would have to do is to trap itachi in his wooden cage and pierce his both eyes with sharp edged woods.

Hashirama has no Genjutsu Feats, Edo Tensei can be broken by sheer Will or Power alone, many Fodder such as the Third Kazekage have done it. You can't consider that a Genjutsu feat especially considering that Edo Tensei is a sealing Jutsu.

This fails because of your comparison to ps and rasengan, you say because ps has never went against rasengan therefore it cant counter it, the difference between that argument and the genjutsu hashi debate is ps has actually went uo against jutsu of equal or greater power than a rasengan while hashirama hasn't went up against visual genjutsu of itachi's level...
