i got goosebumps when kaido landed near kid's allaince. This is the best animated episode ever in the history of onepiece. It was right there in leagues of Aot,HxH animation level. If the animators make every episode like this iam sure onepiece anime will be No.1 in no time..........
who is the animator for this episode???????

Episode Director: Satoshi Ito
Animation Director: Isamu Takara

Yea it was really well done, but sadly they can't keep animating on this level for a weekly anime.

is he the one who animated gear fourth???
Well there is a big team working on each episode, but yes that was the same guy/team don't know if he oversees the same team every time they do an episode or if it changes. He also did the part where Aokiji stopped Doflamingo from killing Smoker.

What? The animation was shit till Kaido moment.
shut up, you don't know what you're talking about. There were a few moment that had bad animation like the part in the river. But overall this is as good as it gets for one piece.

Google: 'A Study of One Piece animation'. Go read it and come back if you want to talk along.

Who are you to tell me to shut up,look at Zoro in first few mins, looks shitty af.Kinda sad that you lable this animation as amazing...Nami looked weird af at some points.Only good shots were the Kaido ones and Sanji ones.

But hey is not as shitty as it is like....always...but to rate it like OP said like HxH or AOT or the best animated episode in the history of OP just lmao...

Back in the day the animation was much better than this so what you on about for "is as good as it gets for one piece."

There were some amazing moments in ep indeed especially the Kaido and Sanji ones, others were mediocre/below it.

That's my opinion anyways no need to get triggered >_>

Style is an opinion, fact is that the Kaidou and Sanji scenes require a lot more frames than normal animation and budget that isn't standard for One Piece. (The other parts were also above par, before you bring that up again)

So no it is not an opinion. it's a fact that the animation is better. That is why I told you to look up the study about animation. Now you look stupid twice.

Also HxH and AOT don't have to deal with animation on a weekly basis, so that is a lousy comparison. That is like comparing a movie to a weekly tv show and complaining about the budget.

AOT, yes since it was a seasonal anime but HxH? It was weekly and went on for 3 years (148 episodes). It ended since there wasn't enough content to adapt.

They redid the existing episodes of HxH for a large part that have been out for years. They had time to plan that out and animate in their own pace and now how much content they would have for x amount of episodes and how to spread the budget, also knowing when they would hit the end.

One piece has been running for 20 years only 6 months behind the manga, maybe HxH isn't seasonal but it also isn't a long running show.

Also not bashing on quality whatsoever, I understand that those anime have better quality but Toei doesn't want to spend dat cash on something that is a sure hit. People are already watching OP. Only way to shake them up is to keep buying manga and stop viewing anime, that would put Toei under pressure.

Nope. They didn't redid anything because they never did the 1999 anime to begin with. The 1999 anime was done by a completely different studio (Nippon Animation), whereas the 2011 anime was done by Madhouse. Both the 1999 & 2011 animes are long running animes.

I know you aren't and I'm just telling you that the HxH 2011 anime was a long running anime. I just lol'd at the OP when he thought the animation for the latest episode was on the same league as HxH/AoT. I know, it wouldn't make sense for Toei to invest a lot of resources onto a cash cow (One Piece anime). It's a smarter business decision to focus their resources on other animes that aren't "cash cows" or movies.

Actually the "animation" for the Kaidou bit was on the level of AOT and HxH. I don't know how you can think otherwise. Maybe not exactly the best scenes from AOT or HxH but yea its up there.

What you have an issue with is Shida's colourful and glossy artstyle which even I myself am not a huge fan of, but it kinda works well for most One Piece scenes.

Yeah, no lol. It was missing impact and there wasn't much animation to brag about to begin with. Some scenes look nice and fluid in animation, like when his hand came out but other times it looked a bit stiff. I wouldn't say it's on the same league as HxH/AoT (I haven't watched much of AoT since I dropped it but some clips I've seen were very impressive).
