Yes, he could merge his Susano'o avatar with Hashirama's wood summoning just like he can with Kurama.

Oh.

Actually, I don't think Madara had access to any of hashi's summonings. I haven't thought about this long, but something tells me Madara could only perform hashi mokuton ninjutsu and not any of his summoning techs

I'm saying that Madara shouldn't have attacked Hashirama at all the first time, using Kurama. He should have stayed on Hashirama's side, because they would be an unstoppable duo, seeing how Madara should be able to merge his susano'o with Hashirama's wood summoning. I don't literally mean summoning, I mean like the giant thousand arm wood statue, I don't think that that is a summoning, i believe it is a technique.

Nah it's definitely a summoning.

But I see what you're saying but then that would go against the entire plot of the manga if they teamed up.

That's what the manga is umm about....two apposing forces working g together can succeed anything? That's what I figured at the end when sauce and nardo defeated kaguya. It was all basicly cuz mads was insane pretty much

Why didn't Madara realize that Hashirama + Wood Summoning > Kurama, and he would have been far off better merging his Susano'o with Hashirama rather than becoming evil and merging it with Kurama to attack Hashi.
Likely because Madara was already planning on obtaining Rikudou's Power to initiate the Moon's Eye Plan, so the first step he had to do was obtain Hashirama's DNA. I'm assuming he chose to battle Hashirama as he had no choice. He chose to attack the village due to the fact that he was betrayed by the entire village and did not trust the village. Therefore, he had no hope for the village and chose to battle Hashirama. Part of that was also his rivalry with him of course, but it was just a combination of his rivalry, his hatred towards the Senju, and the need to initiate the Moon's Eye Plan that led him into battling Hashirama rather than working together with him.
