So in the last chapter we read the Yonkou Blackbeard fled after a brief clash with Cipher pol!

How could a yonkou just flee? How strong is the Cipher pol organisation? Is it stronger than the marines?

Cp0 members are being hyped to be above DD level fighters, so 4 or 5 (or even less) of them should be able to take a Yonko, and since they seem to be portrayed as antagonists to the revs, it makes me wonder how the revs could have lost their base to a BB that fled from Cp0. (though it could be argued that BB was exhausted after the revs battle)

When most people here Yonkou they tend to forget to only consider the individual's strength. Blackbeard likely went with only a few of his crew and wasn't ready for CP and called a retreat.

You can be the strongest man in the world, that doesn't mean you have to fight every battle.

Blackbeard also fled from Akainu
Shanks avoided clashing with Kaidou

At some point you will be fighting people that are strong enough to hurt you even though you might come out on top in the end. Whitebeard lost crewmembers, Aokiji his leg, and plenty of other examples.

With every battle you win you're one closer to your next loss

Regardless of how strong they are you're forgetting BB's personality has been portrayed as opportunistic and a bit cowardly. He thought he was hot shit when he attacked MF and a dying WB but that brief moment when WB grabbed him he lost all his cool and feared for his life(is what I got from his expression)

We can't judge given so few information. Did they fight the Top Tiers like Sabo and Dragon? How much forces did the BB-crew lose? Did they flee because they couldn't handle Cipher Pol or because it wasn't in their interest to deal with both CP0 and Marine, especially in their current state?

Either way it would make no sense for Cipher Pol itself to clash with a Yonkou, as this is entirely the Marines Business. CP0, who is under the direct order of the Celestial Dragons, represent solely their interests.

Judging by how BB pirates scatter around (Burgess was alone in DR), I wouldn't be suprised Teach showed up alone or with 1-2 crew members at Baltigo, found the island deserted and destroyed it. Ofc he fled when CP0 showed up.

Revolutionaries did not escape from Teach, they were already on their way to Reverie when Teach showed up. Things are about to get messy @ Mariejois.

BB is usually portrayed as strategic and opportunistic cowardly and underhanded because he's a villain, So I wouldn't put it past him to run away if sh*t got worse than he had expected. At Marineford, he was willing to take on Whitebeard, but he ran away once Akainu and other marines started to target him.

Possibly, he just didn't want to get into a full scale battle with the Marines, you know how well that went for Whitebeard.

BB had a habit of fleeing after he usually dominates somebody in a fight, and it's usually around Admiral level people.

Unless explicitly stated, it's uncertain whether Catarina Devon helped attacking the revolutionaries or was looking for new clothes in the meantime.

There is no point in fighting useless battles
Blackbeard is the cunning type waiting for opportunities
He had no reasons to fight the Cp0 there around especially since they are only one part of the world government, so it could have turned into an all out war where they'd send reinforcement one after the other
Retreat was a good decision especially since they most likely already got what they wanted(destruction of Baltigo alongside collection of weapons)
