A jutsu that shows exactly how important your friends are: The Futon: Rasenshuriken.

Naruto throws it at Pain in P2:

And attempts to surprise him with Kage Bunshin while he's distracted by the Futon: Rasenshuriken:

Sasuke throws a shuriken at Zabuza in P1 (the Fuuma Shuriken):

BONUS ROUND:

The effects of Naruto's Futon: Rasenshuriken can damage his hand, but he reaffirms his resolve to control it and be Hokage:

And Naruto damaged his own hand to let flow the poison in order to demonstrate his resolve to keep up with Sasuke:

I thought this was a sweet piece of continuity and symbolism that you can find in the manga, if you want to read into it this way.

Turns out that, in their final battle, they each sacrificed their dominant arm.

This is a good point. It does flow nicely into the conclusion of the manga, that an advanced form of this jutsu is ultimately what allows him to bring Sasuke back from the darkness.

Yeah, I mean... Naruto was willing to sacrifice his right hand back when he developed the Rasenshuriken to surpass Sasuke. Turns out that, in their final battle, they each sacrificed their dominant arm.
They only sacrificed their arms because the editor thought it would be better in place of holding hands which was Kishi's original idea.

One of the reasons why they got girlfriends.

Kishi should've had him actually use an FRS.
