I think you're being extremely unfair. Why in the world would it be different for a black person to take 'pride' in his skin color than for a white person to do the same thing? I think it's generally weird to be proud of something that you cannot control; like the color of your skin, or your country of origin. It's not ethnicities that are bad or good, it's people. If it's racist for one person to do something, it is also racist for another to do the same, no matter their skin color. In that sense racism is actually color blind.
Minority???? Typical US response. Welcome to the World: WHITE IS MINORITY ANYWHERE OUTSIDE EUROPE AND AMERICA!!!!
Honestly an alien who would watch American media from where they live, they would have an impression of the whole world having
80% white, 10% black, 3% east Asian, 2% subcontinent, 5% the rest
I don't think you even understand the context of my post. If someone is going to claim British empire as 'White Pride' as if Britain did that for whites collectively then it comes with whole baggage instead of cherry picking. Be it Bengal famines, general loot or their Aryan race theory( British launched it first) or whatever. They are pretty much part of their accomplishment.
It's like a mafia boss asking, " I am proud of my accomplishments. Why do you look down upon me? My methods don't mean anything", from his victims.
It's your preoperative if you do take pride in even that but then it's a silly to ask others their opinion about it. You can be proud of anything but you cannot stop others for not caring and judging you, no matter what skin colour you have. Why ask for validation from others like this?
Why are people even proud of these things? Sigh ...
My sentiment really.
"I'm proud because my genetic line has caused pigment alterations according to the surrounding environment."
Lame.
People's pride should be based on who they are, and the choices they make; not the colour of their skin.
I don't know what to tell you. The British Empire wasn't a unilaterally good empire, but what empire was?
Exactly as my sentiments. An accidental birth beyond your control somewhere ... turns into pride somewhere down the road? Which is why I have never valued Nationalism and cultural pride as well. Your pride should comes from your agency and decisions in life. Not this!
Then black pride, pride in sexuality, pride in your appearance in general I guess should apply as well?
I'm white and I am so proud of my skin colour. My white skin enables me to handle colder climates better and entitles me to more money at work because everyone knows that white money is better than black money due to being more legitimate. It also allows me to be treated better with the cops because everyone knows that white represents happiness and life and black represents death, which is why a lot of people where white at weddings and black attire at funerals. Lastly, and most importantly, my white skin is more prone to getting skin cancer which incentivises me to stay away from the 3rd world shitholes which make up the bulk of the tropical/warmer areas of the world and stay in the richer Scandinavian countries. So yes, my white skin is something I'm very proud of. White pride FTW!
Royal brides before Victoria did not typically wear white, instead choosing "heavy brocaded gowns embroidered with white and silver thread," with red being a particularly popular colour in Western Europe more generally.
People wear White at wedding is credited to Queen Victoria.

BTW white clothes in India typically are worn at funerals or widows. A tradition centuries older than Victoria. Not sure where are you going with that silly description of Black and white as if it's universal.
He's being a jackass. That was not a serious reply.
