[Discussion] Do You Consider Prostitution a Respectable Profession

Honestly I just want to know people's opinion on this. I get that some people have to ***** themselves out to survive, but those people I doubt would say they were proud of it.

What is your own personal view on the matter?

Well, I refer only to people who practice prostitution because of their free will, not because those who are forced to it (which is undeniably horrible).

I think it's disgusting, but it's not my life, so they can do whatever they want. I accept it.

I think that everyone deserves to be treated as a human being regardless of the way they treat themselves.

IMO Prostitution is pretty much putting a price on your self respect and your value as a person.

I mean imagine a rich dude paying you 30k to get naked on all fours on his front lawn while his neighbors get amusement from your reactions to him poking your anus with a stick. :sdo:

I would consider that the equivalent of Prostitution. (Well te porn industry part of it anyway) I can't say anyone coming out of that having much respect for themselves

I do think it's needed but well profesional... not sure about that.

It is needed for people like immortal that will never get laid.

And also for people that have that sexual urge that could even rape people if they don't get ***.

Personally I think it's degenerate.

I'm pretty neutral on the matter but in now way is it respectable profession. Then again there are a number of careers that aren't respectable.

This is a very sensitive topic. An overwhelming majority of prostitutes are a product of human slavery and trafficking. I am sure none of them are happy with the turn their lives took. They had little to no say in the matter, so, I don't blame them for the paths they took. A lot of people resort to it in extreme poverty conditions as well. Frankly speaking, it doesn't paint the world in a bright light, as it shows that people have little willingness to support and aid others without exploitation, coercion, oppression and the simple economics of supply and demand.

Therefore, it depends upon the situation. If the people who were involved in such a profession faced the aforementioned factors, then their conditions pushed them to. However, if a person is well-off, isn't black-mailed in any manner etc. but still chooses this profession to earn extra cash ... then they disgust me, as they are trivializing such a horrid reality of life that involves nothing but underground rings, trafficking channels, poverty etc. I won't interfere in their lives, but I'll be damned if I respect such people.
