I wouldn't be opposed to novels about relevant things like that. But the unnecessary shit I don't want to see.

I'd love to see more of Kakashi Obito and Sakura.

Sakura and kakashi have novels actually. I don't know about kakashi's but sakura's is about how she spent time in village when sauce was gone and how they meet I guess. I've read a summary about it.it was okay but doesn't worth my time.

Those would be more interesting given how much there would be to expound upon... but not a good marketing move as they wouldn't sell well.

I'm surprised Viz even agreed to do these as they are not going to bother translating other novels which were released prior (3 of them- one about Gaara, another about Akatsuki, and the last about Naruto's/Hinata's wedding lol) anytime soon due to lack of demand for them.

Sakura's novel was literally just about how she misses Sasuke because he's not home. I wasn't even aware an entire novel could be written about that. But, I guess it would be good for SS or pairing fans.

Hmm, if it comes to marketing, their best option would be to write a legit book. "Naruto: The History of the Shinobi", depending on how they market it, it will sell really good. << this will not only appeal to the Japanese market, but also foreign market.

And then they should've thrown these novels inside that book. (there really is no need for illustrations.)

I haven't seen any legit Sasuke fans complain, only SS/pairing "Sasuke" fans who were upset that Sakura wasn't on his thoughts at all whereas Naruto, Itachi, and even Kabuto/Orochimaru were for bit.

The anime adaptation was different from Itachi's novels.

Their books were topping light novel sales charts in Japan for a while, people apparently liked them.

Because no characters from the first war have a large enough fanbase to make it worth the effort. I liked the idea KH brought up earlier of combining stories over the generations, though.
