IDK about you but the bottom one is more realistic looking.

As a fella with both hairstyles, I can vouch for it. Mine gets wacky spiked up when its short. While when its long, it curls up a bit (well gets wavy)

BTW RIP long hair. back to Naruto's hair again. That was a good 2 long years run.
