The problem is with naruto himself, he depended too much on others to teach him, he never thought to teach himself.

Sasuke not only learned from oro but went on to develop techniques oro wasn't even aware of.

Naruto in comparison had to be told that he could improve the rasengan, had to be told that he could use KB for training etc. I have never seen naruto actively try to learn or create a jutsu on his own without guidance or someone to suggest he do so.

This is the reason why he was so poor after the time skip, he didn't put much effort into independent learning and depended way too much on his teachers.

Kishi explained that Naruto becomes powerful due to the help of the others where as Sasuke is more of a loner in a sense. What you are considering a problem is not really a problem since the author intentionally made you think that way.

Well the theme of the manga was that Indra was always ahead of Ashura as a kid but eventually Naruto grows strong and catches up once he hits puberty. One's an early bird while the other is a late bloomer but they reach their peak at the same time.

There exists a difference between independence and being a loner. I'll give you an example using Naruto's father, Minato who has the same beliefs. Minato learnt techniques and became powerful with the help of friends, he wasn't a loner, what he was, was an independent learner. Nobody told him to create rasengan.

There really isn't any excuse for the way Naruto is.

But Madara still 1 shots.
How? Madara needed Edo Tensho to be relevant.

Minato and Naruto are not the same type of characters nor are they both based on the same character. This is not a excuse this is how he is portrayed in the manga. Naruto is based on Ashura who needed help to get stronger.

His thing was being able to use the jutsus more creatively than anyone else could imagine ("creativity of a prankster"). That's what gave him the upper hand in fights. Sasuke's thing was being a genius at finding new ways to control his own inner powers, but he mainly relied on using the jutsus straightforwardly (new ways to make powerful direct attacks).

Your thread is a little outdated. Naruto in the end became superior to Sasuke. Thats all that matters.

Besides this thread only shows how much Naruto improved by the end of the series. Where as Sasuke regressed from having the upperhand in the begining of the series.
Lol sit down, my thread is based around their power levels at that particular time. Naruto wasn't a match for Sasuke at that point time and those are facts but sure Naruto caught up chapters later, who's denying that?

Yes but the point here is his early post time skip performance, which many agree was abysmal. Where was his creativity then? Even if he isn't a character meant to learn many jutsu he could have refined his existing skills with independent learning which he didn't do.

Yeah, Naruto had a piss poor vague 2year training session that barely amounted to nothing. Though these are things I attribute to Kishi's vague and inconsistent writing, not Naruto as a character.

If Naruto's training of 2 years was piss poor why are people not complaining about how easily Naruto caught up to Sasuke when Sasuke was clearly two years ahead of him?
