Anti-Islam Activist hacked to death after criticizing Islamism On Facebook.

The said activist is named, Nazimuddin Samad, a 28 year old law student, from Bangladesh, but whose family now lives in London, Samad was attacked near Dhaka’s Jagannath University, news reported.

Nazimuddin Samad was reportedly attacked with machetes at a traffic junction late Wednesday in the capital city of Dhaka. The assailants shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) as they attacked Samad, whose family lives in London. Samad was attacked near Dhaka’s Jagannath University,
“At least four assailants hacked Nazimuddin Samad’s head with a machete on Wednesday night. As he fell down, one of them shot him with a pistol from close range. He died on the spot,” Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Syed Nurul Islam told Agence France-Presse. “It is a case of targeted killing. But no group has claimed responsibility.”

Well his family was in London but it happened in Bangladesh. The local authorities are investigating. Hope they can find out exactly who did it and bring them to justice.

The guy was a critic of militant/radical Islam; they suspect that one of those groups got to him after watching him for a while. The article says that Bangladesh had been having problems with such groups for a while since 2013.

His friends said that Nazim used to campaign for secularism on Facebook and was critical of radical Islamists. A day before the murder, he expressed concerns over the country's law and order in a Facebook post. - See more at:
