Question pertaining to Naruto's childhood.

I went back to reread some old threads of mine to see how idiotic I was & maybe gain ideas for new threads. Well I stumbled on this thread:

In it I briefly state that Minato was my 2/3rd favo (tied with Ita) :Sparks:, but that he was a shitty parent because he unnecessarily left his son an orphan. Regardless of whether the statement in the previous sentence was true, it was debated that Minato being alive & Naruto not being a Jinchuriki would be worse than the childhood Naruto had.

Now, lets not look at it for what it turned out to be -- with Naruto being a Jinchuriki and gaining the trust of everyone because he can shoulder hate. Let's look at it, instead for face value only. Not how powerful he would become or his character development.

Now I primarily argued that if Minato stayed alive that Naruto wouldn't be hated, him being a Jinchuriki or not tbh, and that he would have an all around better childhood.

My opposition said that having to live up to his father's name, and being pressured -- along with a parent that's barely present would be a worse childhood that the canonically correct one.

Now that debate is long over, but I wanted everybody's else opinion. I still see my argument as being right but others might think otherwise.

And Its a different thread from what's become the "norm" on the base lately.

He would still be an Uzumaki, he would have better chakra control at a younger age, would have been more accepted by his peers, and he would have been emotionally stable with a supportive and sensitive dad. Who was also a great teacher and managed to make time for his wife if he needed to.

Worst case scenario, he takes Asumas life path.

I believe, Road to Ninja gives us a peek into what Naruto would have become, even if Minato and Kushina remained alive, it would not stop the feud between Indra and Ashura, either Naruto would have gotten sick of reality and try to change it or like in the main timeline, The Uchiha got blamed and wanted to rebel with Itachi and Obito slaughtering them and Sasuke turning rogue.

His life would have been better, he may either turn into konohamaru or bolt or maybe he could as your opposition say struggle like he did in canon and become better. It just depends, this is up in the air in my view

I said he'd be spoilt, which is not a better childhood. You can't just discard adulthood, because the childhood leads to that; they're one of the same life.

It is not better to be an (emotionally) weak, spoilt brat. It's easier, but it leads to a much more difficult and troubled adulthood and your a bad parent if you mollycoddle your children so they end up that way. Minato put forth challenges that would help Naruto grow a thick skin; it's tough, but it's the only way if you love your children enough to see them not suffer due to unacclimatisation toward the nature of human culture.

A) I don't know if OP's conditions include Kushina being alive, but from what we saw, she would've whipped Naruto into shape.

B) Minato is shown to be generally an emotionally intelligent person, so he would probably have been more capable of seeing how his work might be affecting Naruto. Think Itachi and Sasuke's relationship prior to Danzo's intervention.

C) As Sasuke himself would say, it's generally better to grow up with parents than without them. Naruto's childhood without parents meant that he was only able to feel closeness with Iruka, and constantly felt like an outcast. At least with parents he'd feel like a member of society.

D) Minato alive would probably still have challenged Naruto be a better shinobi and person.

E) As people have said, a living Minato implies that Jiraiya would be more present in Naruto's life (less likely to feel like a failure, less likely to wander around aimlessly). Jiraiya would have been another person to provide some balance in Naruto's life and keep him on the right path.

F) In a world where Minato is alive, the Uchiha clan massacre is less likely. Minato's less likely to be influenced by Danzo or willing to leave that situation unattended to, whereas Hiruzen implicitly trusted Danzo. A mentally healthy Sasuke would have provided Naruto with a rival and a healthy friendship (Honestly, out of all of the K12, Sasuke healthy is probably the best friend you could ask for, next to like, Rock Lee?).

G) Possibility for Naruto to have siblings?

It wouldn't have been a Boruto carbon copy.

See, Kushina would have to die for this to happen. She was about to reseal the 9 tails inside of herself, but Minato stopped her, because Kurama would just resurface years later and the village not having a tailed beast would leave it vulnerable. Otherwise, good points
