Anyone grew to dislike the series near the end?

It finished on a strong note you say but nothing was resolved Sasuke marring sakura is like the most obvious sign Kishi stopped giving a shit about trying in this series and probably just wanted to end it in the most generic happily ever after why he could. Just force tow people that have no chemistry or real love between them together because everything needs to end like a fairly tale where everyone is happy gets what they want.

Their relationship is basically one sided and full of emotional and physical abuse. Sakura has no reason to like sasuke other than the superficial face value stuff and after he has abused her so much emotionally and physically there is literally nk reason she should like him at all. Unless she is a women that wants an abusive relationship with no mutual love.

And no sasuke touching sakura forehead and saying sorry doesn't make all the problems with the pairing go away.

If anyone actually thinks that those two have well written romantic chemistry they don't know what they are talking about.
Never thought I would be siding with the SS pairing side lmao. Kishi built this manga off of morals and one moral that Kishi liked to project out more is "Hardwork" the other being "Teamwork". It was not a forced pairing, it was destined to happen. The pairing does have mutual love between them, it's just hard to see because Sasuke is very reserved and always keeps his thoughts to himself. Apart from Sakura loving/caring for him, Sasuke has shown the same degree of affection for her. Let's start with Part 1 first.

Sasuke:

Asked Sakura who hurt her

He later stopped attacking because of Sakura's insistance.

You must be registered for see images

Sakura's love started as a infuration of Sasuke but as she got to know her teammate better, it became a more genuine liking. Sasuke also started to accept that.

Despite losing his family, he stated that he did not want to lose those precious to him. Sakura was preciois to him.

After being approached by Itachi and Itachi calling him weak, he had to make a decision and he chose to leave the Leaf Village for his own betterment. He knew how much this would hurt Sakura but he had to do it anyway. He said thanks for everything.

You must be registered for see images

They definitely had a chemistry, a close bond and it wasn't forced as many people believe.

Then comes Part 2. If you paid attention closely Sasuke acknowledges Sakura first in all team gatherings. Even in the War Arc, he landed and when he saw Sakura he called out to her.

Sasuke's abusive actions are primarily because he was in the darkness. He thought he was all alone and he had to shoulder Itachi's death by himself. Sakura's move to forgive him here reflected upon her character as selflessness. She wanted to save him genuinely. Then came the War Arc despite him saying that he had no feelings for her and him saying that he doesn't know why she loved her, deep down he does. He was refusing to look back at his emotions which he had long so forgotten. Back here when she was giving Obito chakra to rescue Sasuke, Sasuke could have easily dropped her but he didn't because it was a parallel to show that he cared about her.

You must be registered for see images

Once he said that he had been trying to reject his past feelings out of jealousy you knew that his feelings with Sakura were geniune. The sorry statement and the forehead poke mean a lot from some guy that isn't very voval with his statements. It was mutual love, just bwry hard to see.

It wasn't a fairytail either because not everything happens what you want it to happen. For example not all K11 made it out of the War alive as Neji died. Sometimes mistakes such as these can be forgiven.

Smh people still don't understand why this pair was legitamate. It wasn't forced and it connected perfectly to the beginning of the series.

OK now try disproving that it isn't one sided and full of abuse on an emotional and physical level.

Doesn't matter if he really liked her he still abused her and treated her like ass. Then he leaves her with the child like WTF kind of so called good romance well written paring is that?

Sure you like the paring and can see positives in it doesn't mean it was written well. You have to look at things analytically to see this. As a critic I can't say this shit is well written cause it aint.

And obviously when a writer has to do a easy to pull retcon for a character like, "I didn't really mean any of that I was just hiding my feelings for blah blah blah" reason to justify some paring and make up for what hasn't been shown, it's badly written. Simple as that.

Kishi never planned out any of that stuff as he said many times he made the series up as he went along. All he knew is how he wanted it to end. So no there likely was no sasuke was hiding his feelings shit it's most likely and is a retcon to force pairings in the series for fanservice.

I mean seriously romance was never Kishi strength he didn't plan any of that shit before hand.

And no no no they dont have chemistry sasuke tried to ****ing kill her .When is the last time someone who genuinely loved another person tried to outright murder said person. And all she ever does is drool over him like a horny school girl. At best he has shown he doesn't hate her at times yeah that's not enough to day they have chemistry that can apply to anyone else he doesn't hate to .

SS isn't one sided as many people would like to believe already proved that in the post above. Now for it being abuse, yes it was not going to lie. What Sasuke was trying to do was some attrocious shit to Sakura but he was in the darkness. He didn't know what true love really meant to him because he was shrouded in the darkness. Kishi intended this manga to have a mix of ninja action, adventure and love. When you want to hear a love story do you want a simple one or a one that consists of drama? See personally I love some drama to be incorporated in the story I am reading or viewing.

Rejection isn't really abuse, if it isn't working out then simply step back. Sakura couldn't accept rekection at the hands of her true love which I will admit was Kishi's fault that he drove her character like this. It's not full abuse if you can picture why what a character is doing. He is trying to bring Sasuke closer to his peers slowly in each battle and what you picture as abuse I think of it as development.
Doesn't matter if he really liked her he still abused her and treated her like ass. Then he leaves her with the child like WTF kind of so called good romance well written paring is that?

He abused/treated her like ass once otherwise it never gets to that level. Generally he goes for the ignore option.

It's good romance because it is sorta like a dark romance type. Generally you will not be expecting those kinds of stories. It is unique and different. She has always loved him for the start and he has secretly reciprocated her feelings. Relationships go through rocky roads. You can't expect a perfect relationship with anybody. He made it up to her, that was the moral of this romance. If Sakura brushed off the abuse really quickly the readers/critics should do so as well.

Well I consider this relationship to be written well. It ain't like other relationships which were thrown around randomly particularily NaruHina. That was a bit of a weird romance story but if people can except the fact that Hinata was brave enough to step up in her love game and move on from being a stalker then SasuSaku should change in people's minds as well. It was written well mainly because they have been through a lot. Whenever they are together Kishi makes sure somehow they connect. It has always been his purpose to create meaning like that.

And obviously when a writer has to do a easy to pull retcon for a character like, "I didn't really mean any of that I was just hiding my feelings for blah blah blah" reason to justify some paring and make up for what hasn't been shown, it's badly written. Simple as that.

The hiding of his feelings is more dynamic to the story. Sasuke has always been described as a pure child meaning he acts according to his instincts and what he believes is right or wrong. It wasn't some justification to merge the pair, it was character development that strengthened the pair together which is why this romance wasn't shitty. It was built off of personalities. Sasuke's character won't openely allow him to have any emotions especially about a love interest.

Hmm true Kishi might have never fully planned this out as you said but he knew the overall message he was going to convey. I think in some interview when asked was rhis pairing meant to be real from the start after Ch.700, Sakura's voice actor said yes. The fanservice in this manga was certain females physical features not emotions. This pairing made the most sense as of why they are together.

It doesn't all have to be fanservice if it can also logically be developed.

I mean seriously romance was never Kishi strength he didn't plan any of that shit before hand.
That's what makes him a great writer. It is his element of surprise.

That sort of depends on their relationship. Sasuke and Sakura didn't primarily start off as friends, he actually didn't like her from the comment about Naruto being a orphan. However he adjusted to his team mates and later found a family within Team Kakashi.

But Bling is right, their relationship was entirely one sided. Just because Sasuke cared for Sakura in the beginning because she was his team mate, doesn't make their feelings somehow connected. Naruto has shown care for Hinata in the same sense, but does that mean their relationship was somehow not one sided? Makes no sense what's so ever.

Now for it being abuse, yes it was not going to lie. What Sasuke was trying to do was some attrocious shit to Sakura but he was in the darkness. I don't really blame Sasuke on this one, I blame mostly Sakura for this. On one side you have a troubled teenager facing all these sort of problems on his shoulders, and another one is madly in love with him, and is trying her hardest at not comprehending what Sasuke is even going through.

One of my biggest qualms with their relationship is that it seems too forced. There was no real reason for Sakura to even love Sasuke throughout the series, but she has. Sasuke has done absolutely nothing to bring out this love ... and Sakura's desire for him made no sense as we were given no reason to why their relationship should even be this important. Instead we have Kishimoto saying that Sakura is just addicted to Sasuke, and that if he were to tell why she fell in love with him, it would sound contrived.

It's good romance because it is sorta like a dark romance type. Generally you will not be expecting those kinds of stories. It is unique and different. He made it up to her, that was the moral of this romance. If Sakura brushed off the abuse really quickly the readers/critics should do so as well.
If you understood good romance you wouldn't label SasuSaku a good romance because it has a dark archetype. A good romance is developed 'good'.

The pretense is something that I can vouch for. The idea of a person losing him or herself, and finding themselves in another person, is noteworthy. Aside from that fact, it was Naruto who saved Sasuke, not the other way around. The worst thing about SS is that Kishimoto wrote it on the basis of Sakura not impacting Sasuke's character, at all. Even towards the end of the Manga Sasuke made it clear that he only had one bond left, Naruto. It just questions what he had going in his mind when trying to establish the end pairings in the first place.

If Sakura was important to Sasuke at all, then she SHOULD have been mentioned as one of the people who he shared a close bond with. Even in the Data Book it was said that Sakura saved Sasuke from the darkness with his curse mark, yet older Sasuke doesn't particularly care about the former.

Honestly Obito I hope you're joking.

The next sentence I don't even comprehend it.
Despite actually being fond of NaruHina once, I actually came to dislike it like most of the things in Naruto - Horribly developed and no point in trying to like something written so bad.

Sasusaku has nothing to even compare to such moments of real connection and development. Whether or not Kishi intended for Sasuke to be in love with Sakura, and vice versa, the reality of the manga's narrative is that it was muddled and ultimately inconsequential that not only does Sakura have virtually nothing to do with Sasuke's character or story arc, the audience leaves with the knowledge that Sakura's ultimate lack of influence or depth is so great that Ino or any other token female character could have been on the team and the result would have been the same. That's how little these characters have connected, everything about it is generic.

The Naruto series slowly but steadily started to decline after the Pain Arc. The nadir of the manga was the war arc, which was unnecessarily stretched out and was filled with plot holes.

I agree that Sakura should've backed away from him and given him some space but maybe she thought she can help him out. Sakura thought she could empathise with Sasuke but this wasn't even possible for Pt.1 Naruto to do so. Sakura represents selfnessness and so she did what she thought was best for Sasuke.

For example this one.

I kind of blame Sasuke as well, if you consider them your family why not be open about it? He could talk to Hiruzen about it and find a way to bypass the revenge phase of his life.

Wait do you not consider Kishi to be a good writer. Come on man he gave us 15 years worth of publications. Granted he might be weak in some areas, he wasn't all that bad and he taught us a lot of morals through those chars that we could relate to.

During the time he saw Team 7 as his family he was clearly able to see Sakura loved her and he reciprocated those feelings back.
Sasuke never reciprocated any feelings back to Sakura. The only reason why he even saw Team 7 as a family in the first place, was because of Naruto. I do understand how important the forehead tap is to Sasuke, but in that context it doesn't mean "I love you, wait for me"

It shows that he does care for Sakura in an important way, but it isn't something that deeply involved where you can say that understandably Sasuke has grown to love Sakura. Things don't happen that instantly, especially when Sasuke showed no sign of that nonsense for almost 500+ chapters and then does it.

He didn't like her intially but slowly his feelings were beginning to change. I know he considered the whole Team as his family but during that time he had a special place for her.
He considered Sakura a team mate as the story continued. That's pretty much all there was.

> Didn't Sasuke accept her walk invitation. This was prior to the Chunin Exams when they weren't sure if Sakura was ready to take them. They were getting to know each other despite the earlier frustrations.
Not really sure what you're referring to here. It sounds like the scene where Naruto was talking to Sakura via transformation jutsu of Sasuke.

> Also he mentioned that Sakura was a teammate that was very precious to him after she got choked by Gaara's partial transformation.
He mentioned that he didn't want to lose anyone close to him, which goes along with his comrades.

He did find a family to forget his past but when he was with Sakura he always seemed to calm down and not be hotheaded as he usually is. I would say his feelings were meant for Sakura until he was approached by Itachi lol.
The only time that Sakura ever calmed Sasuke down was when the Curse Seal overtake him. Everything else was pretty much conjuncture and fandom wishes.

No you see that's where the difference is between these 2 characters Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto never liked Hinata, he just thought of her as her friend. Sasuke thought of Sakura as a friend and appreciated her love to get rid of all the lonliness of his past leading for them to get closer. This is why Ino had no chance and pulled out of this mini rivalry with Sakura early.
No, that's not even quite correct from that standard. Both Naruto/Sasuke considered Hinata/Sakura as their friend in some cases, but they never appreciated them to a point where their certain character removed their loneliness. You honestly need to read the Manga more clearly, if I need to actually explain this:

You must be registered for see images

You must be registered for see images

TLDR:
You must be registered for see images

This is also not an accurate comparison because Naruto and Hinata were never teammates meaning they had less time to spend together compared to SasuSaku.
That's actually the funniest thing about the argument. To where I pull these comparisons up, and the lack of actual interaction between those two characters because they weren't team mates to begin with.

SS wasn't one sided because of their mutual feelings whether it be discreet or open. You could see it in their eyes bro.
Honestly bro we both know that's not an argument :lol

Naruto on the other hand didn't feel attached to Hinata at all. He was still competing with Sasuke for Sakura. Sasuke is attached to one female, Naruto is all over the place because he is forming friendships/bonds with everyone.
Not sure what you mean by attached, because I don't really see an attachment in their bond at all. If you're talking about simple interactions, I've given plenty.

Kishi doesn't use parallels or comparisons with other pairings for that matter. NH was one sided and way underdeveloped than SS. It's all mangafacts starting from Part 1.
Oh for sure their interactions had a strong growing point from start to finish in comparison to the other relationships that started during the Chunin Exams and worked their way up. But by no means was it any more sided or developed in comparison to anyone else. Especially when Part 2 is mainly consistent of more negatives, and more negatives.

The reason was love at first sight based off of appearance. She thought he was the cool kid and stylish.Like all girls she started out the same way.

Love doesn't always require a reason man. Love based off of first sight still exists in the world today. It is known as intimacy. Sasuke has repaid the love by saving her or if he could not save her he wanted Naruto too.
The problem with love is that there is no explanation on her part. You can't even argue that she likes Sasuke out of anything other than that as time grew on.

Can you provide a scan that showcases why Sakura is madly in love with Sasuke?

So you would prefer Romeo and Juliet over this pairing?
I don't prefer either.

I see your point and it is a strong one. Naruto did indeed save him but if you think about it Naruto made a promise to Sakura saying he would bring back Sasuke. At the end of the day you are left with a woman's emotiobs that go into a man's behavior. While she did directly admit that she couldn't do anything for him,you have to picture Naruto and Sakura in unison to see the importance of Sakura in the picture.
I have to picture Sakura's importance in saving Sasuke when Naruto told Sakura herself that he wasn't just trying to save Sasuke because she asked for it?

Oh boy..

That's because Sasuke was trapped in the darkness. Her bond with Sasuke doesn't compare with Naruto's or Itachi's but it is arguably 3rd.
That's because Sasuke doesn't actually care for that bond in the long run. Being trapped in darkness just seems to be a lousy excuse when he's capable of understanding friendship and bonds, in the form of conversation with Rikudou, whom he just met. Important bonds is something that is talked about frequently in this Manga, and by God, does Sasuke take them seriously. Especially with his brother and Naruto.

The message I'm conveying here is not where her bond should be placed, but how important it is to Sasuke. Hence why it was never brought up by Sasuke because it wasn't that important to him. Sasuke said countless times that the only real friendship outside of Itachi, was with Naruto. If these interactions were so meaningful, you would honestly think he would at least think about her in any of these situations where he actually reflects on FRIENDSHIPS and BONDS.

Ok man I take it back. Can we just call them equal in their development.:sigar:
Weren't you just saying the opposite of what you said here above :lol?

Wait do you not consider Kishi to be a good writer. Come on man he gave us 15 years worth of publications. Granted he might be weak in some areas, he wasn't all that bad and he taught us a lot of morals through those chars that we could relate to.
Kishimoto's sucess was the result of his first editor. Kishimoto's idea of Naruto was way different if he didn't have the help he needed to flush out the story where it needed to be. Do I consider Kishimoto a good writer? No.

Based on what? A story that ended this terribly?
How as a Naruto fan can you appreciate a story where Naruto is being labled as a bad father?
If you're suddenly not a Naruto fan anymore, how about Sasuke whom can't even visit his family despite family meaning the world to him before?
A main character that got ruined over time?
Themes that he crushed alongside the main character?
The lack of actual physical and mental growth for the main characters bar what .... Sasuke?
An entire Manga being focused on a subplot of villains from an entire clan which shafts every other clan in the lore?
Barely little to none development in the female category?

What exactly is here to appreciate in the story after it's ending? Sure I love Naruto, don't get me wrong, but Kishimoto is no 'good' writer by any standard.

After Pain's invasion, the story was going below average and with the introduction of Kaguya, it became 'meh'...

I don't dislike it but it's not as high as it should've been on my list, if Kishi had found a way to conclude it around Pain's invasion arc...

Neji's death / The Hokage arriving on the battlefield used to be the moment I disconnected with the story. Nowadays I quite like that arc with Obito no matter how messy it is.

Madara and Kaguya I basically deny. What an infuriating year or so that was for manga readers. Nothing go satisfyingly, seemingly random panel time, barrage of villains.

Just curious, I know I have.
I can see where your coming from, but if u stick with the series a bit after the end, u can see how Kishi is taking the story to a new place because the Naruto-Universe has changed since the fourth war due to technological advancements, and so that will be important in the future and take the story to a new place.
