Basically an ocular superman? Really hax so therefore it's as strong as the writer needs it ti be? (in the rinnegan's case, with tespect to the user's chakra). For example we saw a glimpse of just how strong it was with Nagato who was severely weakened. He was not inly being control (complete subjugation) making him weaker, but even weaker because he was an edo tensei than his living self. Still as this he was able to effortlessly take on KCM and bijuu version of bee.

I think Momoshiki used the animal path of the Rinnegan because a giant rick golem AND a Phoenix bird thing??? He also used the chakra rods, but Sasuke never levitated midair as momoshiki, Nagato, and Madara shown which is a deva path ability in his fight with Kaguya, granted he had susano but did he really need to waste a TSB from Naruto when he can just levitate?

This isn't a vs thread btw, just wanting to get the thoughts on why the rinnegan has such wasted potential or is it basically an ocular superman?

That's true but even in boruto the movie he didn't show it still. If Naruto can learn to fly sasuke should know how to levitate, then again in Naruto's defense it was more innate just like how he found he could heal kakashi's eye.

Momokishi used COAT to make those creatures, Sasuke never used any of the 6 Paths because the author knew it would be impossible to win a fight against him without Kaguya's power level, same reason Naruto never used RSM.

The nerf basically confirmed how strong the Rinnegan and RSM are, Hagoromo's power really isn't meant to be used against anyone below Kaguya's level because his abilities are literally the feats of a god, especially in the hands of a prodigy.

That's pretty much fights in this series in general -__- how much chakra they have and how smart they use their abilities is all up to what the author needs for plot.

Also in the movie as well as the mini series Sasuke can levitate, but as for the other abilities, different Rinnegan function different ways

But yeah the author can give anyone a rinnegan and give them any hax ability he wants, if Kishimoto wanted he could have Sasuke learn Momo's ability to make a fire bird or golem and there would be zero plot holes, same with Limbo

So yeah, Rinnegan is hax because for an author it's near boundless

Imo I think Sasuke's levitate ability was mixed in with his Susanoo. Don't forget he can fly with it. Honestly I would rather fly around in a chakra armored avatar during a fight than just levitate without anything to really protect you.

That's a stretch. You just said that they were both Nerfed. That means it wouldn't have been so easy to just extract Kyuubi from Naruto if he wasn't Nerfed.

I know many like to believe that the ocular power is superior to body power, but throughout the manga it seems every ocular ability in the end is countered or defeated by sage power. It just goes to show you that for every path, there's a body power to counter it.

Not to mention Naruto is probably the most well versed in dealing with every doujutsu since he has fought most of them on more than one occasion since he was like 10 XD

I'm 90% sure momoshiki doesn't gave COAT nor has it been confirmed that he did. Wouldn't make sense either tbh, I agree with everything else though, if someone isn't at least hakf of Hagoromo level Naruto and Sasuke have no need to go all out. Although in fairness it wouldn't hurt to use some paths here and there. Of course I'm not saying that a rinnegan user should always continously boast immense power but hey it is up to Kishi after all.

In the end they were nerfed. Sasuke would win had he extracted the beasts. Naruto's abilities are unlimited as well w the power of all tailed beasts + rsm
