[Question] Gurren Lagann

What makes it so good? I'm 3 episodes in and I'm not getting it. The art's not great the comedy's sparse and so far the plot is shallow(hopefully that changes as it goes)

So I'm curious what about it makes those who like it, like it because it has high ratings and I hear a lot of people mention it?

So what you're saying is my question was as useful as your answer. You seem awfully presumptuous this morning, who said I wasn't going to finish watching. And actually asking why someone likes something and hearing a passionate response can in fact influence people's perspectives.

I liked anime which was rated not so good but hated one anime which was considered one of the best by many lol.. So it's up to you to decide. Just go along with a few more episodes and in case it still remains boring or takes a sudden twist which you don't like, go ahead and drop it.. I still have to watch that anime though, it's on my to watch list...

Like I mentioned to Totsuka, I never said I intended to drop it, I've actually said on here quite a few times people shouldn't drop something, watch it til the end to see if the full story changes your mind and that is what I will be doing. I was just curious if fans could share what it is about it that won them over. If a lot of people liked it for the art over story then I know a bit what to expect and same if most liked it for it's story over it's art.

Where did I say I needed their opinion to decide anything? I'm curious to hear the other sides views. It was your interpretation of what I said that started the whole quit it if you don't like it, don't worry about people's opinions stuff. I'm not asking them to convince me to like it, I'm asking them what about it do they like. I see how you could confuse the two but they're not really the same thing.

There are better place to ask about anime, here you got pretenders who have the audacity to talk about the anime that they didnt watch, this ppl dont know shit and they are trying to tell you what is what...

Now am being nice here.. about gurren lagann, have you listened to that video up there ? if no then do it quickly, just dont the read the comment section to avoid spoiler,

i can go on and write an essay about why the series is amazing, but aint nobody got time for that,
and since you have already seen the 1st 3 episode then i guess this is all i can say, Guren Lagann doesn't look like how it seems, from now on their world is just going to keep expanding and on and on it goes, i can confidently say that what you are seeing in the anime right now is nothing but small fragment of the whole series and i mean that literally.

There now was that so hard, we could have skipped all this unpleasantness had we started here. And I have not checked the vid yet my comp here has no speakers. You're right I did say peoples opinions can affect anothers views and I still mean it, however this was not intended to be one of those instances, it was an answer to your earlier point, not an expression of my view. I was curious what about it warranted such high ratings as I wasn't seeing it yet(which is why I pointed out I was still early in the story)

I felt the same as you when watching it (which wasn't too long ago). I liked it from episode 4 onwards but I really started to enjoy it by about episode 8 or so. The music is great, the art style in some of the fights is incredible and the comedy was pretty good. I think it's overhyped by some but it was definitely worth the watch.

It's badass. Kamina made that show what it was. After he died it was still good but not enough of the usual and badass leader, just some wannabe Kamina's lol. But the anime was great imo.
