Nobody said anything about confidential details, sakura was not forth coming. Why did she for example hide karin's picture why not just leave the picture there? If salad asks the question she should just explain that those were friends of her father. What's with the secrecy? This is what led to the mistrust I am speaking of. It does make sense.

Most independent was likely Kaguya tbh until after she was sealed by Hagoromo and Hamura and was forced to rely on Black Zetsu to revive her. If you think about it, she stole the Chakra Fruit all on her own and ended the War with just her powers. She really didn't rely on anyone until her sons sealed her away.

The next one that comes to mind would likely be Tsunade, Mito, or Kushina perhaps.

You do realize that Sarada was asking questions to find her father, right? Telling her about Karin would have spurred her on: "May be, she and them know about where he is?" Those people were with Orochimaru. Do you really thing it is the responsible thing to do?

Do you think she really would have listened to NOT look for Sasuke had Sakura told her about Karin? No, she would have run off regardless and god knows landed herself into what trouble.

Sasuke's enemies can track and kill her for Sharingan, as activating it isn't all that difficult. They can use her to lure Sasuke in. Sasuke is also related to the Hokage, and his kidnapped daughter can be used as a political black-mail tool. Dude, I can go on and on here. Sakura did the right thing. The only thing I do agree with you on is the the picture. That was pretty stupid of her. Though I am betting she forgot about it.

I remember I had a picture of my grandmother tucked away under the frame. Over the years, I forgot about it as well. It's natural to forget about such things.

I'm gonna put Konan at the top for literally operating alone at the conclusion of the Pain arc. Everyone else relied on friends or their village to be motivated or accomplish things, Konan was doing her own thing on her own and very nearly took out Tobi. Arguably one of the most independent characters in the series, male or female.

EDIT: It probably depends on your definition of "independent." I'm interpreting it here as someone doing things by A) Avoiding actively depending on others to accomplish or define goals and B) Not having a passive support base to turn to for emotional needs or whatever.

Were we reading the same manga? Sakura is one of the least independent women. See chapters 1-700 and look for the phrase, "Sasuke-kun" by Sakura.

If we use her generation alone, id say Temari is the most independent. Only female jounin of her generation in part 2. But even Tenten with her limited screen time is more independent.
