Pretty good episode, the fight between Laxus and tempesta was awesome .Animation was great again, but gray's power up felt a lot weak as compared to manga, except that, they did a very good job explaining tempesta's ability and the meaning of his name.

FT Zer0 is going to get animated from January.

I thought they will take a break from anime for sometime. But animating prequel is a good thing tho.

Soaring Above Ishgar is by far the best episode for me.

Christina's cannon unable to leave a dent
The bests of each guild powerless over a single FACE tower
Grey demonic appearance (kinda Sasuke-ish but still loved it)
Grandine and Metallicana showing up. OMG!

A very decent episode
Gray's finisher was nicely animated.Next we are gonna see the final fight of tartarus arc being animated.Hope igneel vs acno continues to be badass

FT Zero's first episode is finally out and it starts at the 7 minute mark. Nice opening as well =D

The colors palettes were same as that of tartarus arc, I thought it will be similar to gmg.Anyways looking forward to upcoming episodes.Also op only covered ft Zero so possibly it will have 12 episodes since one op generally covers 12 eps.I wonder what they will do after Ft Zero

So far only one chapter has been animated. Still there are 12 chapters to go. Normally at the anime's pace it takes 2 chapter per episode. So, it should be completed in 6 episodes. But there is always a possibility that they can stretch the episodes like adding some extra detail like how they have learned Magic from Zeref? & they mastering their magic kinda like that etc.,

Maybe I think they will animate Ice Trail after this one. Gray's spin off gave a good depth to Gray as a character and as well as for Gildarts Character too. It would be a good move if they do it.

Agreed, it's probably going to be a chapter per episode pacing with added filler. Hopefully it won't go on a long filler arc after FT zero. Doing the other FT spinoffs will be nice.

I'm lost on what the strategy with FT is but can't keep up with the manga spin-offs, then they decided to filler the shit out of the anime and follow up with a FT Zero adaptation, only to continue 2 episodes of the new arc and to drop the anime on the 26th.

It's a mess. This is like Bleach 2.0.

Also this weeks episode was borderline hentai at some parts. Photoshoot with a horny octopus really ? And Lucy's proportions were out of control. It was already past the subtle fan service, but now it just is degrading.

Apparently if you apply as a girl for a job as reporter, you will be forced into a career of swimsuit model before you can start working as a reporter. I wonder if Lucy's kick is strong enough to break the glass ceiling, or that her magic is only 70% of a man's strength.

I think we can start expecting some breaks like this and the one that happened during 2013. I just saw the TV rankings for Fairy Tail and they're bad. It's been declining a lot in popularity from what I heard with the 2014 anime (before that too) and getting awful ratings as low as 1% or lower. It's to be expected and the anime isn't as successful as other shonen animes that you consistently see in the top 10 japan TV rankings like One Piece, Toriko, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball, etc. If it continues like this then maybe we can expect seasonal animes for FT in the future? Idk.

Anyways, in response to your post, the octopus scene wasn't in the manga, right? I do remember the photoshoot and that was pretty disappointing when I first read it. Despite that, I'd still say she's a great female character.
