Kakashi being anywhere near as smart as the rest of the Uchihas such as Sasuke, Itachi and Madara is laughable. Orochimaru accepted that when he was 16, his intelligence paled before Sasuke's, and Hiruzen considered him once in a lifetime prodigy. Hiruzen considered his intelligence inferior before an 8 year old Itachi, and Madara was the clan's first prodigy that lead them at a young age.

Who is Kakashi? A nobody, building his repute on the table scraps of Uchiha clan. No body even directly refers to him without adding "... of the Sharingan." A needy whelp staring at the table through and through. Manga facts no one can deny, as neither Orochimaru nor Hiruzen lauded his intelligence in this manner. The former didn't give damn about him, when he was in the same room as Sasuke.
