is it just me or was the Akatsuki the best thing to happen in Naruto? As in the highlight of the series.
I'm never a fan of antagonists, but damn, they were so awesome.

Having just watched their epic DLC team ultimate in Storm 4 inspired this question.

I 100% agree with this. Ever since Akatsuki has been virtually disbanded, the manga went downhill for me.

Akatsuki was the reason why I gave the series "Naruto" a chance in the first place. Without it, I wouldn't be here now.

But if that would've happened, the manga would've ended with the bad guys as the victors. Unless you mean somehow the Edo Hokage would happen. If not, then the Akatsuki would've destroyed everything and everyone. Of course, Itachi wouldn't have had that though.

What would you have changed about it? Ultimates have to be around a certain amount of time long. Couldn't have had every member showcase their special jutsu

Hmmm not sure if I would say the same for myself. Kakashi alone was really intriguing enough to keep me as a fan. Would've stopped following the series had he stayed dead after what Pain did to him

I would change some of the moveset that they showcased. Because the ones that are very unrealistic are these members...
-Kakazu only punching him
-Zetsu only using his flytraps to clamp
-Orochimaru using wind element
-Kisame slicing
For the most part they are not specials, just conveniences that they can do because of their attributes. That and I didn't see Tobi being involved.

Ok. Those are reasonable concerns. And yeah, Tobi not being apart of it is weird, I admit. Maybe CC2 really just preferred the look of Pain being the leader (which is why his ST is the finisher and he's standing in the highest position) when in actuality Tobi was the shot-caller.
And there's also the fact that the pairs attack together or back-to-back. It had to be either Deidara and Sasori or Deidara and Tobi.
