Known as BLT, Baloo the bear, Leo the lion and Shere Khan the tiger were rescued in 2001 from the basement of a house in Atlanta during a police drug raid.

Since then, they've spent the last 15 years peacefully living together at Noah's Ark Animal Shelter in Georgia.

There have been all sorts of animal friendships in the spotlight recently, but these guys are definitely a first.

The animals had been kept in the Atlanta basement in terrible conditions, and Baloo had to have surgery to remove a harness that had literally been growing into his skin as it hadn't been adjusted while he was growing.

That was the only time the trio of friends have ever been separated - they've spent every, much happier day together since.

As long as you raise animals together from birth and don't starve them. They tend to get along for life. It's the same for my familys cats, dogs, chickens etc.</div>
