He has Byakugan. He can simply close his eyelids to prevent being caught in genjutsu, and use the Byakugan's X Ray vision to continue seeing his opponent.

I was only saying Kurieni doesn't rival Itachi in genjutsu. The manga already proved this my friend. However I do believe her to be a master in genjutsu like how she is described.
