Why do you think Kishi gave Minato Sage Mode?

The reason why Minato didn't used his SM much more earlier fighting along with Naruto was because he believed in his son. His SM wasn't that good, but it was perfect. When Madara became the Juubi Jinchuriki, Minato was the only one there who could damage Madara in that form, and that was SM according to the previous matches he has been anyalyzing.

Don't come here and say that was an asspull.

Its an kind of an asspull because Minato only mentioned Jiraiya having just several chapters before that.

Its an obvious retcon at the very least.

Kishi wanted to show how dangerous JJ Madara was and I guess show how much Naruto has progressed. I don't even know why he gave him SM only to have his ass fodderized and never use/mention it again.

So you are expecting Kakashi, Gaara and Sakura to damage Rikudo Madara? Minato was the only one there with SM that could at least fought against Juubi Jinchurikis, however he only had one arm without Kyuubi's chakra, and Madara had Hashirama's sensing abilities, Juubi's staff, healing, Gudodamas, and let alone Minato being an Edo. Madara had a lot of advantage there.

Now, explain why you said Minato using SM was wasted?

How was it not? all of a sudden Minato can use sage mode and not once was it mentioned in the many parrallels between Naruto,Jiraya and Minato. It's an asspull but it turned out to be a decent one seeing as he can't maintain the form for long and the chakra takes to long for him to gather.

He did not say all of that. He just said that he had sage mode like Jiraiya. There was no way he could have known that Naruto can maintain it for a long time and all of that since he found out about it a few seconds ago.

NO way it is asspull, it was just barerly hinted and Kishi left us some notes which suggested otherwise, however as wise as he stayed he left himsef way to make it happen.

At the worst it was retconn. The asspull for me is Obito;s ghost powering up Kakashi, Rin's ghost and stuff + Kaguya being hit by Rikudou enhanced DMS Kakashi, also the way Kaguya was beaten.

IMO he gave him sage mode to compare him with naruto to show how far naruto had come. the legendary 4th hokage couldnt even fully master sage mode the way naruto was able to. Naruto even mastered it more than Jiraiya.

Like for example when Boruto learned Rasengan and many people from Konoha stated that he learned 4th Hokage's jutsu, when his form of Rasengan looked completely different from Minato.
So saying that Naruto's SM is like his own sounds unnecessary, and it is much better to add Jiraiya instead of himself since Jiraiya knew SM.

That's because Minato was the inventor of Rasengan. Thus is in fact his jutsu. So I don't think that is a good comparison as Jiraiya didn't invent Sage Mode.

unless you are referring to the production of the movie which further makes this comment stupid when six paths senjutsu was established way before then
