Why do you think Kishi gave Minato Sage Mode?

This was brought up on Naruto Forums recently.

I thought it would come into play later in the war...but nothing. He didn't anything with it at all and it made Minato's statement about Sage Mode being Jiraiya's thing seem odd.

he had yin nine tails in him. he was a kage. jiraya was his master......ect. he probably was able to due to the nine tails in him being reanimated as well and could bend it to his will.. and kushina probably helped him

Kishi didn't knew why the hell he even introduced the former Kage again by ET...
So, he gave them one or two new feats and killed them again. That's it!!

Minato being the student of Sage Jiraiya learn Sage Mode butMinato’s Sage Mode only lasted with His first move a minuet at most. And Jiraiya was an imperfect Sage,thus of all 3 Naruto became the perfect Sage.

Minato summoned Gamabunta during the kyuubi attack on Konoha, so that alone shows that he has acces to mount Myoboku, and that he has a huge chakra pool. So yeah why not make him a sage mode user as well?

Asspull? Care to explain?

The reason why Minato didn't used his SM much more earlier fighting along with Naruto was because he believed in his son. His SM was perfect, but he couldn't used that power in a long fight anyway. When Madara became the Juubi Jinchuriki, Minato was the only one there who could damage Madara in that form, and that was SM according to the previous matches he has been anyalyzing.

Don't come here and say that was an asspull.
