Kishi really nerfed the Hyuga clan. They got the most potential to be undefeatable. Their mastery over chakra control is just impossible to gauge! They can develop their own chakra mode. And I'm not talking about "tenseigan" chakra mode. I'm talking about their own pure chakra mode that can be untouchable!

With chakra control, they can stabilize their chakra mode. Raikage created lightning chakra mode and stabilize it.

Neji was proven wrong though through Naruto's fists.Didn't he say failures will always be failures. Yeah look at where that took him. It was because he was proven wrong with the destiny crap that he got to see how the world was really like and got out of that boxed mentality of being pessimistic about every god damn thing.

I just felt like he nerfed the Byakugan not necessarily the Hyuga Clan. Kaguya had so much potential with it but failed to detect Sakura's punch. The Byakugan techs were nerfed too as how does Neji just throw his body into the crossfire. He could have used another wave of Rotation with Hiashi or Hinata backing him up in case he dropped his guard. All of the Hyuuga supposed potential stems from Kaguya hqving the Byakugan, they were really not the focal point of this series.

Well what I will say is that Neji didn't deserve to die and that I would've preferred him to be Humara's successor, he deserved that but the Hyuga clans potential was reached/illustrated in the manga.

I would say the biggest mistake the author made was limiting the huuga with just taijutsu... Its almost impossible to improve
