3 way deadlock

Why was this summoning combo called the three way deadlock? And how were the summoning power inter-related with each other. Snake> Toad but how does the slug fit? Can anyone explain this??

Your right, if the snake can't handle the slugs summoner then it definitely can handle the summonee' but more then that Katsuyu' counters anything Manda or some other snake throws at her.

Frog can spew out water canon and using sword to fight ahead
Slug can tank any physical attack then split to heal the other two
