Deku goes over his Taijutsu information in his notebook as he waits for his sensei.
@Mordred is this RP heavy or do you need to get it done quickly?

This, my young and passionate student, is not about me, but about you! Truthfully I am a bit of a lazy, unconventional, somewhat disorganized...
Uuuh, that is to say, in all honesty I would love to RP some training with you, but I know myself well enough to say that it would draw out my replies. If you'd like to RP I do not mind, but please remember what I said.

Oh, and I don't think the '@' thing works here.

Anyway; I'll start the 'lesson' and you can just reply all RP-like if that is how you wish to proceed, or, you know, like I am writing now if now.

Taijutsu. Your fist, your power, their face. You see a lot of it in the series, but surprisingly little of it here. You're certainly not new to NB, so how about you tell me what kind of experiences you've had with Taijutsu. Have you read some fights here? Had some of your own in freeform?

Well, technically I'm a new member. I use to be an active member like 4 years ago(I was really young back then) but once Naruto ended I left(I didn't know how to make a bio back then so this Website wasn't as fun). This is my first time RPing so this is all new to me but I've been researching everything from training to battles to just bios.

My main experiences with Taijutsu was when I was doing research on it. I read some battles but mainly people training students in Taijutsu. I haven't really used it myself but I have looked in to the moves.

From the scratch, huh? That's nice.

But it does mean that we'll haver to take a look at how you frame your Taijutsu moves. Would you be so kind as to write a few opening moves for me? Imagine that you're about to attack an enemy standing in front of you. Just try to freeform it.

I'm sort of of confused what freeform means but I'll try my best.

If a person is in front of me I could possibly use a combo. A low kick which will cause the person to jump. My next move could be punch as they would be defenseless. Is this what you talking about?

Right, of course. Sorry, I guess I'm used to training people who've been here a while.

On NB we describe our moves - that is, what out characters do in battle - and most of the time we use techniques, jutsu, to our advantage. Freeform is everything non-jutsu. A simple punch, a few thrown kunais, stuff like that.

I have a bio called Hawke. Should I want to perform a freeform attack I would, for example, go something like this:

Hawke charges towards his enemy, right hand raised as if ready to punch the other man in the face. The raised hand, however, serves as a feint, and when he gets within range of his opponent it is Hawke's left hand that soars towards his enemy's midsection in an attempted punch.

Try something like that. It mich seem a little stupid, but wording is important in Taijutsu. You need to keep track of your limbs and make sure that what you're trying to do can be done.

Deku takes a step forward. Motioned his fist in a punching way as a distraction he twirled his body in cycle. Dropping down on his feet in an effort to sweep his foe he used his hands as structural support just in case he lost balanced.

Would this be a good example?

I think you're overcomplicating things, honestly. Twirled his body in cycle? Dropping down on his feet?
English is not my first language, sure, but I'm fairly certain you're just making things harder on yourself.

See, when you fight people here they will go to extreme lengths to avoid damage. What matters in Taijutsu is your defense and the first attack of every move. You need to strike hard, strike fast, and just strike once.
Okay, you can punch more than once, but my point is that the pillar of your Taijutsu should be your stability... as in your ability to not screw up.

But, hey, it is with Taijutsu as it is with everything else; practice makes perfect. Fight some fights, have some fun. See where the art takes you.

Now, as a Chuunin there are only so many techniques that you can learn. Take a look at the list of techniques available to you; do any of them stand out? Why? Why not?

On the list of taijutsu I found

(Shōgekishō) - Upwards Attacking Palm
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 30
Description: The user strikes their opponent with an upwards thrust into the abdomen lifting them into the air.

This one stands out to me because it can start a great combo or give a great advantage if landed. The damage points are really good and just the attack overall is appealing.

Urgh, sickness...
________________

It really was kind of a trick question. Most Taijutsu techniques can be bent to suit the situation. Take your technique there; it says abdomen, sure, but what's stopping you from hitting your opponent beneath the chin? In the groin? Nothing is. You're free to do so. The most important thing about the Tai techniques you want to use is that they should cost no chakra point. If the technique costs no points to use you can use it and a chakra-requiring technique at the same time.
And therein lies the advantage in Taijutsu.

Now, this is the list of D-ranked Taijutsu techniques. They're not great, but they're certainly solid. Solid in the sense that they're versatile, if not exactly deadly. Still, in Taijutsu it's not important that you deliver a ton of 'damage.' Sure, you want to hurt your opponent, but the thing is; you'll do that no matter if your technique delivers 20 damage or 80. There will be a difference, sure, but to a certain degree the margins are negligible.

Now, these techniques are pretty straightforward. Read them and ask about them.

Hope you feel better

Okay, One main question
1.I have is even if they say offensive attacks can I use them in a defensive(like to prevent a hit) mindset?

Yes you can, that's the magic of Taijutsu. You have a certain freedom in using the techniques. What you aim for, which hand or leg you use, etc.

Now, please select one of the techniques and perform it.

(Hirateuchi) Slap
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 20
Description: One of the simplest moves in Taijutsu, the user will simply hit the opponent with an open hand, slapping him. It can also be used for defensive purposes to slap incoming limbs or weapons.

This technique is good because I can use it offensively to slap your opponent but the thing that made it catch my eye is you can use it to block physical attacks(no jutsu).

To perform it I would have to be in a short ranged area and in a battle against someone. If they tried to kick me I could slap their leg away and cause damage to their leg. It's takes no chakra (because taijutsu) and can be aimed for any body part.

Okay, yeah, punch, kick, slap, the works. The D-ranks are the very basics, only Leaf Gale and Leaf Hurricane really exceed a single movement. Perform those two, then ask me any questions you may have about the techniques on the D-rank list.

(Konoha Reppū) - Leaf Gale
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points:20
Description: This technique is a good example of how even simple taijutsu can become a pre-eminently destructive, lethal technique. The attack is a simple rear spinning low kick, but a strong enough user can send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing. The goal is to throw the enemy off balance, and deal damage to the lower half of their body.

Question: I really don't understand the description for this attack, Could you explain it for me?

(Konoha Senpū) - Leaf Hurricane
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points: 20
Description: A taijutsu where one launches a succession of high kicks and low kicks. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark connecting to the rib cage area. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint.

This barrage of kicks is strongly offensive. It's used by Rock Lee in the manga. Using it can cause good damage if some one gets to close.

Question: Does the damage count for each kick landed or just the combination of kicks.

You spin counter-clockwise around on one foot, the other raised and gradually extended, and use the momentum of the spin to deliver a low kick with said extended foot. The move can easily be performed in freeform; the technique simply adds the element of 'send a large adult flying as if they weighed nothing' to it.

The latter.

Consider D-ranks learned. Before we move on to C-ranks I just want to get the one E-ranked technique out of the way; I honestly repressed the memory of it, so there.

1000 Years Of Death. No questions, I assume?

Good, C-ranks then.
Now, as I've told you before 'more' is not always good in Taijutsu. Your opponent will not let you punch him twelve times; he will do his absolute best to never get hit. You will not get to throw successful combos in this game. Your opponents will simply not allow you to.
Plus, if one punch does the job why throw two?
Now, picking favorites; tell me which ones you like and why.

Okay, I see what you mean. I've been in plenty of fights and yeah Taijutsu can't be relied on it by itself.

I have 3 that are pretty cool to me.

(Kage Buyō) - Shadow of the Dancing Leaf
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points: 5
Description: A technique where one follows the opponent, closely matching his or her body's movement, just like a leaf that dances in the air is followed by its shadow. The technique is usually preceded by a swift upper kick that will launch the target into the air. It is mainly used to position an opponent into a vulnerable aerial position. This move by itself is harmless, but it is usable as a stepping stone for a great many powerful techniques like Front Lotus and the Lion Combo. That said, it also has a rather high degree of difficulty.

I like this one for the most obvious reason. It has great potential to open up combos for jutsus. It states that is a stepping stonne for other taijutsu moves but who says you can't fireball jutsu the person in the air and Karin (lightning for overhead) them. This helps you take a offensive move and change the pace of the fight.

( Seikentsuki ) - Righteous Fist Thrust
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will strike the enemy with a chakra enhanced punch sending them flyng.
Note: Can only be used by Hashirama Senju, Sakura or Tsunade

This one mainly because it can give you space in a fight or as a finishing move. I had a question which would help me understand this more. As it says sending them flying, will it send them to mid range or even long range? Overall it's an epic move used by great ninja.

(Shubi Kurēn) Defensive Crane
Type: Defensive/Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 30
Description: A very advanced and complex defensive form, the Defensive Crane allows the user to divert the path of incoming attacks with the back of his hands, using circular and wide movements that expand outwards. He can intercept weapons or incoming taijutsu attacks. The technique is best used when facing an opposing Taijutsu move by diverting the incoming limb to one side and combo the defensive stance with an attack, exploiting the opening created.

Now I picked this one because it's always great to have a defensive weapon in your arsenal. In every element you should have something to defend yourself with. Now this one is great as it can get. If your in short range you can use it to propel away ninja weapons and just normal tai.

I agree that it's cool, but just remember that you can't use ( Seikentsuki ) - Righteous Fist Thrust.
I agree with your other two choices, though. Shadow of the Dancing Leaf is nice, both in its execution and practicality. To force your opponent into the air is hard, but it usually pays off.
You have to hit the other guy with it first, though, and that requires some really good wording, a very short distance or a lot of speed. Think before you use this.
Defensive Crane is a smart technique and it would also work on small Ninjutsu projectiles, provided that they can be deflected.
How about Suiken, Drunken Fist? I noticed that you did not pick it out. How come?
