Which is why it was the most influential and impactful anime/ manga ever created, and shonen have yet to stop copying what made it successful. Was denied an ending over 4 times due to its succes and popularity and was thus made to continue (giving us 3 main villains 4 if you count vegeta from the saiyan saga and GT. Stayed relevant for over 25 ****ing years after its end then came back again with just as much if not more success and popularity as before. Because that's how almost every shonen is right? Smfh no db was one of a kind.

No dragon ball wasn't a run of the mill manga clearly you don't know what you are talking about. I bet you also think star was just a run of the mill movie if you cant see how obviously unique and one of a kind a series DB was, it pretty much is the anime manga equivalent of star wars in tents of its success popularity, influence on the medium of entertainment it is from and much more
dragon ball was an overrated piece of crap with random villains with no backstory and no complex issues to be tackled...no story and little to no plot other than random space villain #10 to fight...dragon ball was a shit manga with no character developement outside of vegeta and piccolo and it as retcon galore and overpower city with no strategy or excitement...though I will give it credit for being the great first draft to the stepping stones of superior series such as naruto and one piece and hunter x hunter

Kishi tanked his own manga by focusing on spectacle rather than story. By the time he finished with the mind numbing action, he had to rush Sasuke's redemption and return to Konoha, and basically fast tracked to Naruto already being Hokage. Only going back to depict Naruto's day of ascension, in a rather goofy and comedic way.

I think Kishi checked out with regards to Naruto years ago and was basically on auto-pilot for several years. Only thing that could make matters worse, is Kishi feeling compelled to revist his manga and try to retroactively add things he should've added to the story to begin.

I just wish it didn't end with a terrible last arc and villain.

Also Berserk and Baki need to get more popular. Two of some of the greatest manga, especially Berserk; hands down the best manga of all time.

It was time. Naruto had his time now it's time for other really good animes to be noticed more than before.
like what lol? Out of all the anime series Japan has, there won't be any more than a handful of them that will actually be aired on a television channel outside Japan because they don't have the kind of international appeal shows like Naruto, DB, & Gundam Wing has/had.

Well, something being original/of a high quality and something being successfull/influential are two different shoes entirely...

DB was/is so successfull and popular especially in the west mainly since it was one of the first manga/anime that made it over here. But it´s plot and characters are really nothing to write home about. If you compare the complexity of characters and themes between DB and Naruto, the latter is obviously in a completely different league...

The characters and themes in Naruto were overall poorly executed.

I could say the say for a lot of series...it's still shits on dragon ball
No it doesn't. Read these posts form TV tropes.

Piccolo outright stated that Vegeta will be go to Hell no matter what as punishment for all he's done when he dies. The ultimate karma really, to be told to your face that your fate is set because no matter how good you turn in the present all acts of genocide & destruction you caused still matters.
Being Majin Vegeta doesn't alter whether he gets to go to heaven or hell. And the event that qualified him as a 'good' person was probably that very Heroic Sacrifice that killed him. A Heroic Sacrifice which he knew would be followed only with eternal torment. It was also a very realistic possibility that he would not be brought back to life because of what he'd done. He went to hell immediately following that.

Contrast with, say, Obito getting exactly what he wanted out of the afterlife, immediately after switching sides.

I've noticed the opposite more and more people outside of forums and such seem to be getting into it, lots of stoner chicks too. It's just a cool story. The filler hell is killing a lot of the hype though, once it goes back to canon there's gonna be tons of hype surrounding the coming events.
