Of course not. We don't know Jellal's father nor did I say that Gran Doma was his father. I merely stated the fact that the Earthland counterpart of Faust, who happens to be Jellal's father in Edolas, is Gran Doma. Meaning the Edolas factors the OP is talking about, are redundant in relation to August. We haven't even seen the Edolas version of August.

The correct parallel would be that because Faust is the father of Jellal in Edolas, Gran Doma would be the father of Jellal in Earthland, however the OP is talking about August, which has no connection to either of them. This parallel would also be nearly certainly wrong as it's not because something is in Edolas, it's like that in Earthland and vice versa.

In Edolas magic is a scarce resource that has the same status as iron, wood or gold. In Earthland it's everywhere and inherently present within the people. No one outside the Exceed had magic in Edolas, they used magic tools to use their "magic". Hence "magic" was extremely valuable to them, the same way how for example oil is valuable in the real world, but this really has nothing to do with August.

And August and Faust look similar as much as any two old people look similar. Gran Doma is Faust's Earthland counterpart, they're nearly identical.
