Actually, Senju clan was the only clan that could rival the Uchihas and the Uzamaki clan was never respected for their strength. Clearly, the Uchiha clan was above the Uzamaki clan.

Fact Uzumaki live longer than anybody else that why their call the Clan of longevity. Fact the Uzumaki Chakra is special. Fact you need an Uzumaki to hold Kurama safely. They were merely equals during Madara's era with Madara and Hashirama being the deciding factors with Hashirama only winning due to having access to an ability that is exclusive to him. When taking that into consideration, it's clear that Madara (who's arsenal is composed of an Uchiha's Power) far exceeds SM Hashirama while being restricted to a Senju's capabilities which restricts his Mokuton.
