Then just don't cover the eye. That and Kakashi met Obito as Toni in the Itachi vs Sasuke arc and didn't suspect a thing then.

He wasn't acting like Obito and he wasn't attempting to take his eye. And him uncovering his eye would have lead to the belief there's another Uchiha unaccounted for. That's an entirely different problem. When Kakashi ran into Obito at the Kage summit, he had suspicions of his identity.

Why would anyone think it was Obito of all people?

They wouldn't have needed to assume it was Obito. All they would have needed to know was that Kakashi was missing which would've made people think that someone was after the only thing of value that Kakashi possessed which was his sharingan which is a Konaha dojutsu.
There would've been worry over what happened to Kakashi regardless of who it was.

DMS Obito would've soloed Narutoverse if Obito took back his eye after the mist ninja massacre when kakashi was lying unconscious then there would be no more story cuz he would've killed everyone so no Naruto.....GG
this is why kishi had to put restrictions on obito, hell even as juubi jin his kamui was restricted....DMS Obito is just broken HAX.
