Actually what you mean is the dark web. The deep web is everything you can't search for; lost domains, useless documents, some old government files. The dark web is underneath that and does exist but its much smaller than the former and yes, it is twisted sadly. The government can't really stop all of them because the people running it just create another website after its shut down. Only way to totally stop it is to launch an Electromagnetic bomb that destroys all satellites, but then there's no internet.

No, it does exist. I think I remember reading an article where it contains around 7000-8000 TB of information compared to the web which has like close to 20. If I remember correctly, there's a series on YT where a guy explores the dark web.

Dumb question. Deep web takes away (arguably) 90% of the internet.

People tend to confuse it with Dark web. Dark web is a part of Deep web and is where all the illegal activities go with Deep web being simply a part of the internet wich cannot be accessed by just anyone.
