I just realized this, and i'm sorry if this has already been addressed before. I can't believe it took me so long to notice :sdo:

Kakashi can't use Chidori or Raikiri anymore, due to losing his sharingan in his battle against Kaguya. Sharingan is a necessity to using the chidori, as it negates some sort of tunnel syndrom. Because he no longer has Sharingan, he should still be able to use Raikiri or Chidori, just not as effectively as with Sharingan. I mean his is an Hokage, so if he's been using a technique for so long, he should be more than capable of using it.

Go on, Heathens, discuss.

I'm still wondering why was he chosen to be the Hokage in the first place. He no more has any proper strength and is just a normal jonin. However, it's probably because he has a lot of battle and overall experience, so this makes him a good politician or something of that sort.

There are several dozen reasons that I honestly don't feel like listing. I'll probably make a thread on it later.

actually don't need sharingan to use raikiri as proven in the naruto movie inheritors of the will of fire when the main villian(forgot his name) used it to destroy naruto's clones

That movie isn't canon.

Lol. If you think about it, Kakashi should be on Hiruzen's level. He supposedly copied over 1000 techniques. Yet manga had him cowering before Orochimaru.

He can but he can't charge enemies at high speed with it ,specially skilled enemies who can counter attack kakashi's bltitz.

He can still use it. Just best to use it up close and be sure it's a guaranteed kill. He also has his wolf chidori variant.

Didn't he use purple lightning or something in the novel too?

never said it was just used it to point out the fact that kaka can use raikiri effectively without the sharingan

Well, this thread is in response to his lack of capabilities via canon.

That's called Shiden. It's meant to compensate for his incapability to use Chidori or Raikiri anymore.

Kakashi can still use the Rasengan so I don't see the issue.

The Sharigan was used to increase chidori and Raikiri effect and accuracy concentrating the chakra for maximum penetration so Kakashi should be able to use general electrical attacks like Cloud Ninjas do to fry enemies, just no penetration like a sword would do for thats what made chidori different it acted like a sword or dagger thrust to kill by piercing enemies organs.
