It's common in writing to have a character pursue the story goal for the 'wrong reason' and then experience 'character growth' by either changing their goal or finding 'the right reason' to pursue said goal.

The true reason for the creation of 'Hokage' was to promote peace in the Shinobi world.

Naruto's IT dream would probably have his parents alive and Jiraiya not him fighting kaguya and the 'coolest guy' dying.

Sides, it showed everyone elses dreams focused on one specific moment, like Tsunade wanted to be with Dan with him as hokage, Hinata just wanted to be dating Naruto and Ino dreamt of Sasuke and Sai fighting over her. if this was an IT dream, its pretty elaborate for Naruto to be imagining his children, everyone elses family, sarada's confusion at her parents and the new threat of the Ootosuki in the boruto movie.

Yes I'm joking. We all read that one manga chapter where Naruto's goal to become hokage was stated to not be about proving his worth to all those that doubted him as he said in like the first chapter and instead about bring peace to the world, (which never happens in the first place as there is still conflicts when he is hokage as shown in the gaiden so even if it was true it would still be a writing flaw in the story unless kishi intended for Naruto to fail which he didn't) A theme that didn't even come into the series till the war arc.

At best its misinterpretation of a writers work something that is easy to do for people that aren't writers themselves.

Debating the analytical flaws of writing with people that dont even know what good/bad writing is isn't fun. So if you don't see what I'm getting at just agree to disagree please. Jsut because something has analytical flaws in its writing doesn't mean its bad to like it. That's just part of being a writer and critic it has nothing to do with liking a said written product.
