Poor Nawaki Senju, so fodder and unmentioned that even Kishimoto forgot about him. Surely Hashirama died before Nawaki did. This can be implied by the fact that Hashirama only reminisced about Tsunade as a child, not during her teenage years. So he most likely died before she became a teenager, which is when Nawaki was around. However, during the war Hashirama ONLY reminisced about Tsunade, not even thinking about or mentioning Nawaki or wanting to find out if he was okay.
Considering Tsunade was about 5 when Hashirama was around, and she's about 16 when Nawaki dies, then Hashirama probably died a year or so before Nawaki was born, so never knew of his other grandchild. I don't know, that's just my theory. But he's so fodder that He didn't even get an Edo and Tsunade's boyfriend did.
There's also the theory that he wasn't her brother by blood, just some child that she found and nurtured and/or grew up with, coming to know him as her little brother.
Do you think Tsunade would be happier with her little brother around? (IF he never died)
R.I.P Nawaki Senju. May the Fodder be with you~ You damn Naruto ripoff!
