I'm not being funny either. It was some real calculated work by Meek and some real sloppy work by Drake.

Basic rundown:
Drake drops new song on his OVOsound radio show "Summer 16" (It's not nearly as good as "Charged Up" or "Back to Back" just to let you know) and announces his album due in April (I think Meek's album comes out then too)

VERY SHORTLY (like 15 minutes) after, Meek drops "4/4 part 2" (another 4-song mixtape like his last one).
One song in particular "War Pain", directly addresses the "Summer 16" track Drake just put out. Just for fyi, he even has a nice song with Future, yea Future.

You really have to listen to the songs but I'll try to go in more detail below. But before getting into the actual songs....the funny part....these *****s are actually in the same hotel, in Toronto, one floor apart. Drake in the room right above with his team, Meek in the room right below with Nicki :lmao: 2016 beef.

Now here's where the W comes in.
"Summer 16" likely was the most miscalculated thing Drake has done in a while. Dude finds out Nicki and Meek are staying in Toronto at the Four Seasons, so he gets a room above them for him and all his boys....they're even all wearing the same thing apparently....so he can drop this track of "bullet proof verses" (song reference) in the same hotel while Meek is "going to bed" (song reference). He talks a lot of shit in this song. Claims to be the new Jay...has a bigger pool then Kanye..you should listen or genius the lyrics it's something.

Now as I said, only 15 minutes later, Meek comes back and addresses nearly EVERY reference in this song. The time frame is so short and the lines are so specific that either he guessed Drake would drop a track, stayed up and waited for the drop, and recorded his response in 15 minutes (impressive, sad), or he had to know beforehand what Drake's move was going to be. According to Meek, Drake's ghostwriter for the "Summer 16" track told him (deeeeuuumm). I ain't gone lie, I listened to Summer 16 first, and I didn't think Drake wrote it to start with. The bars sounded more like a failed "what would Drake say?" track. Meek basically turned his move upside down and smacked him up in his own city in all of 15 minutes. Not a good look for the 6 God. Once you listen to the tracks you really get an idea of just how much of a ball drop this was for Drake especially after executing his last two tracks so well. It's like they switched roles or something.

Go have a listen for yourselves though. I'm sure a lot of people are tired of this beef but trust this turn of events is actually worth the time. You really wouldn't have expected something like this to go down

I'll have to know where to listen to this. Now that I think about it, did Drake really write his own raps? I'm still not sure about that yet lol

Look below the article to hear the song from Drake. It's hard to find it now most sites are getting it taken down already. Probably a good thing lol. You can listen to Meek's song War Pain on Datpiff.com.

And bruh I don't even know at this point. I'm still tryna rap my head around the 6 God letting himself get bodied in a Toronto hotel right above a ***** who supposed to be dead already in all of 15 minutes :lmao:

He got several on him lmfao. That whole EP was fire flames.
He did though. I thought the first 4/4 EP was good but damn lol. Meek snapped back forreal. In the song Drake said "I could've finished you off the first time"....that ***** took his own advice

again: Back 2 Back was overrated along with Drake entirely.
For a diss track it definitely was. And I agree. I'm a fan of him so I know. They were hyped because Meek didn't respond, probably because he was busy touring at the time. But either way Drake ain't never been one to body anybody in any of his beefs so I don't know why people acted like he was some battle god all of a sudden

EDIT: Damn they took it off EVERYTHING! That site is the only site I could find it on and it I can't link it. You might just have to read the lyrics first on genius to get an idea until you can find a new link to the actual songs

It really don't matter because nobody want meek to win even if he do drake on top and its not going to change. I wished meek stopped he only messing up his career had the #1 album before all this happened

Yeah, Meek finally sneaked in that W, but the scoreboard still essentially the same. Only difference is Drake only up by 10 now, rather then like 30. I don't know how many quarters left to this beef though.

Edit: I thought Drake got the hotel room above Meek the night Back To Back dropped... Not Summer Sixteen.

Am I bullshitting if I think that this beef kinda resembles Nas vs Big lip Jay ? I mean Jay Z was hella more popular and shit and they thought that Jay Z was winning until Nas dropped that Ether flame and he won. I see the same shit with Back2back and the diss tracks that Meek Mill been dropping.

Well if that's the case he screwed no matter what he do so he can't mess up anything more than it already is. Every move he makes gets referred back to the beef either way.

?? Huh?? 30 down to 10 is a big difference for one move (even though move wise this was best one in the whole beef to me). I think I kinda get what you saying. The social media scoreboard probably Drake up by like 50 but it's going to be that anyway. Meek was never really out of it as much as the hype let on. As far as how long the beef will last it'll probably go on for awhile. At the end of the day these two in different lanes so nothing they do is going to stop the other they'll both make money as long as this beef is up

Nah you really not I get what you saying. I was young but was into music pretty heavy back then....plus my older sister was into music like I was and we used to talk about it all the time so I know what you mean.

It's very similar. Most people only know "Nas...Ether!" but in truth that beef was lopsided for a WHILE in Jay favor. And not just off hype, Jay's moves were real calculated. I remember when Jay did his Takeover verse on Hot 97 summer jam and then put another one out after Nas took the bait...that was basically the "charged up" and "back to back" moment (except with better bars and Nas put out that stillmatic freestyle in between). People were saying Nas was done then and should've quit after the first Takeover verse. Same thing they say about Meek now. Had Nas listened he wouldn't have saved face. But he kept going and dropped Ether.

The funny thing is that beef was really decided by social media in a way too. Ether wasn't even all that hyped until after Jay did Supa Ugly and then had to go back on 97 and apologize because his mom told him too :lmao: He kind of sounded like he was about to cry. Once that happened it really took all the sting away from Supa Ugly, especially since the style was so out of character for Jay anyway. He wasn't really the type to just go airing out dirty laundry he was more subliminal than that. Even Nas did an interview and was like "yea we took it too far this is out of hand". Then they took that poll on 97 and most people voted Nas won...and Nas won. Then "Ether" got super hyped as this crazy diss track, which it was, but all together Jay held his shit down better.

Honestly I can see this Meek/Drake going that exact same way. The only other difference is that Jay was the popular one and he was the one with the real street cred at the time. But it'll probably end the same. Meek will keep going until Drake slips up like in this recent exchange they just had. But history will show Drake as the bigger artist like Jay was shown over Nas...Meek ofcorse probably won't be as regarded as Nas, but he'll have his career too. They'll be friends again like Jay/Nas and everything lol

1st) Dont compare Gods Son (Nas) To Weak Wills.

2nd) Don't compare the God Jay to Drizzy Drapes.

3rd) As a Nas fan (Dudes my favorite artist.) Jay won the battle between this. Hard to admit it but Ether was just a barrage of insults that set off the climax with a powerful ass bang.

4th) Meek is gonna still lose in the long run. He a poor ***** what you expect? Plus a fanbase is what matters most nowadays and thats what has been carrying Drake this entire time.

P.S. If you hadn't notice this post resembles the Kanye tweets when he beefed with Wiz
