Few? Haha, you are funny.
If these people were only a few, then the world would not have such a problem with religion today.

Lol, if you talking about the gay issue please dont make a big deal, because nobody gives a crap sinfe there are far more important issues like world hunger, Oh and also in the religion homos arent killed just warned. Because the prophet himself saw a man dressed as a women, he didnt hit him or kill him or torture him, he just warned him about hell .

You know people do exist who do not and have never believed in god and i am yet to be aware of the massive amount of atheists "Cutting lose and devouring everything before them".

They arent doing that because of the modern laws and morals which relgion helped shape (which are slowly decaying, morals i mean thanks to a few dumb people)

Okay, I'll let you continue to live in your bubble of lies. I have no patience with people like you anymore.

Hinduism didn't prevail as it is known today until after Gautama's life. Brahmanism existed in his lifetime but he quickly denounced it.

Hinduism didn't exist at the time of Buddha. Main religion of that time was Brahmanism.
They are the same thing

Brahmins are the higher ups in caste system in hindu religion according to veda's and were the dominants during vedic period
1.Brahmins
2.Ksatriya's
3.Vaishya's
4.Shudra's

that why ancient hinduism is called Vedism,Vedic Period or Brhamanism

Are you meaning to say that these people didnt really believe in god but just done it and pretended it anyway? :lol

Oh please name me a few, im dying to know

Because it made them selfless,

How about warren buffet? One of the biggest philanthropist ever. Heres the thing human nature is a balance of good and evil they are always together. To say that good morality stems from religion isn't true. It promotes being a good person but it is not what created it.

I think human consciousness as a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature, seperate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, this accretion of sensory experience and feeling, programmed with a total assurance that we are each somebody, when, in fact, everybody's nobody. I think the honorable thing for our species to do is to deny our programming. Stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction - one last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal.

Religious people are the most peaceful people on the planet!

I'm sorry for bursting your bubble but "religions" are far from being moral. And do not mix belief with religion.

Mother Theresa, Jesus, Mohammad were without a doubt highly conscious, highly moral, great human beings, but the religion/s were made by and used troughout the entire known history by power hungry people who used it to divide and conquer. Fact.

If you choose to believe; start with believing in yourself, the rest will follow and all the pieces of the grand puzzle will slowly and surely fall into place before your very eyes.

This was my first and last comment on religion related threads.

Peace. :)

So you are busting bubbles now while talking about peace?

Take away religion and the world will be one step closer towards true Peace. :)

Unfortunately true. And I say "unfortunately" because not all religions and religious people are the same, but taking away religion would definitely be one step closer towards peace and progression. Sadly that's never gonna happen though :pick:

Morality doesn't stem from religion alone. It can make people more conscious about their actions though.

she was never inherently altruistic seeing as the ulterior motive to her supposedly selfless acts was to convert those to christianity

among other things, but those are criticisms and are challenged by society's perspective today

They are pretty much the same thing though. The relationship between Buddhism and Hinduism is not unlike that of Judaism and Christianity.

OT: Nope. Anyone has the capacity to be selfless, whether they be religious, atheistic, agnostic or whatever.

I like how people think religion is the cause of the worlds problems, but religion itself is a creation of the world. Now now I no people gonna say"no its not" then if that's the case then I would have to believe in all religions because all religions would be true, if people believed like that then most of the worlds problems would be solved. Now people talk about morals now they say "everyone has morals and we don't need religion to have morals" yes that is true but were do most morals stem from? Religion, exactly now if right and wrong no longer existed what do you think people would do?human only pick whatever morals suites them I'm sure a murderer has morals but not murdering is not one of them. People only have morals that can benifit them, now some people don't live like that they want to have morals on everything so they devote themselves to faith, but now they find out "faith has no meaning". There is no right or wrong anymore, murder, rape all these things become the norm because there nothing wrong in doing it. Where do most laws stem from? Religion, believe it or not people do not like rules, now if rules are proven to be fake you will see the true face of humanity. A person is rational but humanity as a whole is irrational, the problems of the world is not religion but humanity itself, you think people going to become all peaceful and loving once religion is gone? Your a fool if you think that.
