So the Hokage ceremony for Naruto is buried?

Since in one of the movies, Naruto wasn't able to attend the Hokage ceremony, and fans are saying that movie was canon.. so that means we won't be seeing the Hokage ceremony for Naruto (something I as the reader had been waiting for since his goal was introduced)?? Or can that part of be changed?

I'm lost, so would be helpful if somebody can explain this to me. Whether thats fixed as canon, or something that can be changed.

I'm aware of that, but I'm asking if its buried or can it be redone, considering that was one of the worst decisions they took regarding Naruto?

It was a horrible decision, because it was something that a lot of casual people who were rooting for Naruto, were waiting to see. "the moment he became Hokage". Kishimoto couldn't deliver this moment in the main manga, and then he couldn't in his expanded universe either.

I mean, Naruto was an adult and a father then. He wasn't the stupid little brat anymore. He deserved better. After everything he achieved, it would be great to see him up on the Kage-building, in front of everyone else. Wouldn't it be great if he then got the Kage-hat delivered by Kakashi, his former Sensei and disciple of Naruto's father Minato.. paired with flashbacks, some tears of Iruka, Narutos friends and Naruto himself?.. and then the scene completes with a hug between Kakashi and Naruto.
Kinda cheesy, but I'd love that, considering that Naruto didn't hug his dead father while he got two chances.

The ceremony happened as Canon I believe.

It was just someone who did a Henge no jutsu into Naruto (Konohamaru I think, not sure),
because Naruto was KO by Himawari.

Anyway, I would have preferred if Naruto himself would have been there,
but that is not likely to happen anymore, seeing as he is already hokage in the Boruto movie, which is Canon.

It was stated that it will get animated and added to the DVD release of Boruto.

Way too cheesy, Naruto is still Naruto, he will always be a Hyperactive Knucklehead Ninja. A Goofball, If you even watched Boruto the Movie its even more evident when he's having his interview.

He's been the Hero of the Village since in the Pain Arc.
